Dustanya Diri

What is Jawi?
What is Rumi?
What is Sufi?
Who is Hamzah Fansuri?

We know Marco,
We know Atlas,
We know Amerigo,
But who is Al-Attas?

Sudah hilangkah jati diri?
Ibarat Laki tinggalkan Bini!
Lupakah hati bahasa sendiri?
Adat di jiwa bak karatnya kersani!

Undertaker

At the corner of my eyes,
Tears subside, left from the high,
Fueled by melancholic memories;
No time for goodbyes,
Likewise---forever they lie,
For the final rite, let me bury.

The Herdsman

On a sunny day,
The herdsman observes,
As usual the herds,
Towards the pasture they heed.
Advance! Advance!
As the slaughtering is today,
The merchant delightfully spends for his pay,
No longer living in despair.

While manning the herds, a question remains unanswered.
Good riddance!
What kind of this diabolic creature,
Struggle to survive, never,
Strive for the best, sympathy is an err.
Uncertainty costs the future,
Like the herds living in the pasture,
Hope and dream no longer.

Alas, the end is near,
No treat for the fever,
Their death fortunes others.

Monday's Blue

My eyes are red,
   My mouth is blue;
My body is on the bed,
   But the work is due.

Wish It Stays Here Forever

For my beloved 16 years old Luqman.

Hi.

How are you?

I hope that what you wished before will become true

The love that you searched before will become true

The girl that you asked before will accept you

The dream that you pursued before will come to you

There is a girl that you wanted before,
In a letter that you addressed to me,
Is she still beautiful and sweet like before,
I hope that you can introduce to me.

The one with the tomboy, the dearest one
How I wish that she will become yours.

I lost her here.
I'm sorry.

God loves her more.
I can't grasp her hand,
Or say anything.

I'm sorry
Too much burden here.
I lost everything.
My love, my life, my dream,
How I wish I can travel back time
It's impossible, but I wish for it every day,
To say that nonsense, but the dearest word,
I-love-you

I hope that you will stay cheerful,
And I want you to know something-
before I go and forget you eternally,

Thank you for being part of me,
and thank you for staying beside me,

You will forever live within me for as long as I could remember
I thank you for everything,
Blame me for my incompetence,
but stay with me forever,
As for me, You are my everything,
I can't help but want your appearance.

Stay with me please, even you are no more.
I will always remember you in my heart.

Yours faithfully 24 years old self
Luqman.

You Know It Already

Life is sometimes sweet, sometimes bitter,
What is tend to be wrong, we try to make it better;
How much courage do we need to muster?
How long we need to master?
For all the mistakes that have been committed.

Oh, I wish that Time is my friend,
But, that beast eating me from inside.
Before I know, these limbs feel nothing,
Like succumbed into a big, big jelly.
Until life is no more to beat.

Funny, isn't it?

Disappointment

A blank, white paper.
Hate disappointing myself.
Asking for a chance.

Thirst

My throat feels sore,
   A thirst that need to adore;
A needless bore,
   Amidst the heat within my core.

Happy Ramadhan ...

A Noble Sacrifice

Either a saint or a satyr,
   No one brave enough to steer;
'Til you ended as a martyr,
   Loved enormously to be a peer;
Like the same birds flock together,
   Only to learn being plucked for feathers,
      Endless despair forever.
