The Show Must Go On

My heart gently weeps yet again
For the long lost song of Mercury.
I know it’s been some 27 years since he left the stage we mortals call life,
But even now his light still is bright in this darkness we call our lives.
We all still honor his very existence every day.
Even if we don’t know it we carry on the torch of his music,
From merely jamming out to his glorious voice to creating an award-winning biopic about his life with Queen,
We still are the champions of the world even if we bite the dust, because we make sure Freddie lives forever.

His voice is that of angels singing and nobody can outdo it,
Even if you try with all your might he’ll whisk you away with the flick of a microphone,
For even his vocal range is as unique as he was.
Even in just writing a song, he can outdo the norm,
“Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Killer Queen,” and “We Are the Champions” just to name a few.
He drew out the best of people, rocking audiences to the very core,
For Queen belongs to even the loneliest souls of the world, the ones who just don’t belong.
We find ourselves in music, in Queen, in Freddie Mercury, and that you can’t replace.

Life goes on though, we always have to find the will to carry on.
We can continue to carry Mercury’s flamboyant torch onward though,
Keep on passing the torch down to the younger generations.
We can continue to rock out and enjoy life while we can,
Because nothing lasts forever and we don’t know when life will fade.
Queen lives on with Adam Lambert alongside Brian May and Roger Taylor,
Even if Freddie is gone, his life is carried on through Queen and every single one of us.
No matter what, the show must go on, for Freddie Mercury and Freddie Mercury alone.

Purple Rain

Raining purple tears,
Like amethyst in the sky.
Goodnight our sweet Prince.

New Rose

The bored rose stood tall,
And eventually she will fall.

Nashville Cats

She's here even if you can not see her,
She's here even if you can not hear it.
She makes herself known with a crazy purr,
Mia is here, and she will never quit.

Jack watches us from a pleasant distance,
And he charges up to demand our love.
Letting us go is a nonexistence,
For he hovers around us like a dove.

Zinnia attacks Mia like she's prey,
But she kicks and grooms her with a meow.
They both run and roll around as they play,
She's the crazy cat and she's sure to wow.

Mason is the oldest of the four cats,
And he's fluffy like the craziest hats.

Ghostbusters

A peculiar ghost haunts this house,
Despite her rocking music, she’s as quiet as a mouse.

Welcome To the Jungle

Hide away in fear,
For the dead begin their reign.
Try to escape and they think they are in the clear,
But according to the girl that is like a megaphone, this is only the start of pain.

Fight away through the fear,
No more hiding, there’s no choice,
Even if a sugar rush may cheer,
The wilted flower speaks the hard truth through his voice.

Drive away through the fear
All gassed up with a positive view.
Make sure that he hits the dead with his steer,
So they have a peaceful few.

Drive right into the fear,
Right into a city of the dead.
Now they’re free, but they’re back into the drear,
In a macabre carnival they fled.

Crash right into the fear,
Because they just can’t catch a break.
The eldest that stands tall like a statue tells them to kick it into high gear,
But the torrential downpour will awake.

Drown out the fear,
Run through the cold November Rain.
They’ll reach the final stretch at a pier,
Yet the bridge might be their bane.

Civil War

All around me is the dark,
Because I feel like I’ve lost my spark.
This world is far too cruel,
And everyone is such a fool.
I no longer can find my way,
As I turn even more gray.
So this is defeat,
Why is real life such a cheat?

No, wait, I can see again,
I can crawl out of my den.
There’s light again in my life,
And I’m reanimated with a brand new strife.
There’s talking and laughter and smiles once more,
Now I feel like I’m no longer fighting a civil war.
I can see the friendly faces that surround me,
Finally, I’m free.

And We Both Know Hearts Can Change

November will cry,
Leaves will fall like sloppy tears.
The loss of a rose.
Yet there are more awaiting,
Crumbling in that dark garden.

Stone Free

A new star arises from rotten ground,
Crashing like waves in a fight for new life.

The Lovecats

A calico kitten ran by,
Alert and rather spry.
Home she went,
Now she’s spent.
From running into my room just to lie.
