Mary Shelwood Poem
lost in dark depression
not knowing where to turn
i opened the windows to my soul
to see what i could learn
i swept up the depression
scrubbed the sadness and hurt
i put it all in trash bags
and set them by the curb
i found stashed in a corner
tucked high upon a shelf
a treasure chest of knowledge
that i could love myself
and wherever my future takes me
i know that i will win because
i opened the windows to my soul
and let the light shine in.

Mary Shelwood Poem
When I'm with you,
Eternity is a step away,
my love continues to grow,
with each passing day,
this treasure of love,
i cherish within my soul,
how much i love you ....
you'll never really know,
you bring a joy to my heart,
I've never felt before,
with each touch of your hands,
i love you more and more,
whenever we say good-bye,
whenever we part,
know i hold you dearly,
deep inside my heart,
so these seven words,
i pray you hold true,
"Forever And Always
I Will Love You"

Mary Shelwood Poem
Can you erase the thoughts that haunts my mind
Can you ease the pain that i suffer all the time
I'm tired don't know where to turn or run
Can you show me a way from all this trouble
I'm in a dark whole don't need no light
Can you take away the tears i cry at night
Or the fears i tend to hide just to get by
I'm so confused on who i want to love or be with
You stay on my mind all the time can't get you out
Can i rewind, fast forward, and pause my life
Take out the bad and replace with good
Can i put the mistakes behind me and put the future in front
How can i love if i never been loved before
Why am i been treated this way
I understand we fell off in the past but
There is a brighter future focus on us
To make a difference or change the world
Can i be the one that makes everyone happy
Or help everybody get through
This is so hard to do
just wannt take myself out the problem
because all i do is try to solve
or help give advice
but im done over and out
erase all of me so that i won't exist in your life
how do you know im not hurting just like you are
or going throguh what you going through
how do you know im not scared to love again i don't won't to risk getting hurt
I feel what you feel
i'm tired of life just like you are
I think of how people would be if i was a certain way
alot goes through my mind, can't you tell
i'm so lost just like you are i do believe that i suffer
way much than you do
i go through so many trails and its hard but
i gotta stay strong to be pleasing in
GOD'S EYE SIGHT

Mary Shelwood Poem
My poetry could always be worse
but,
There's a point behind every poetic verse
You can hear me yet I never have to speak
It can better my mood when I'm feeling weak
Unlike life I can erase or rewind
I build what you read inside my mind
Poems can strengthen your heart
Yet some of them can tear it apart
Words are just words maybe to you
This is my life, yeah, who knew?
I wish more people just could see
How much more there is to poetry.

Mary Shelwood Poem
Here stands a special place
With beauty all aglow
This lovely placed called home
where warmth and blessings flow
Sunshines upon by day
And moon keeps watch by night
Angels hovering close-by
With graceful wings insight
A wreath upon the door
hung there gingery
The porch is most inviting
For friends and family
Warmest hues of rainbow
Surround the walls with love
Sweetest scent of flowers
Yields fragrance from above
The Olver's are gracious hosts
Each guess remembers well
Care for a cup of tea?
Do sit and rest a spell
Hearty conversation
Plenty of good cheer
That's why this house is special
It's memories we hold dear

Mary Shelwood Poem
Life is a challenge - meet it
Life is a gift - accept it
Life is an adventure - dare it
Life is a sorrow - overcome it
Life is a tragedy - face it
Life is a duty - perform it
Life is a game - play it
Life is a mystery - unfold it
Life is a song - sing it
Life is an opportunity - take it
Life is a journey - complete it
Life is a promise - fulfill it
Life is a beauty- praise it
Life is a struggle - fight it
Life is a goal - achieve it
Life is a puzzle - solve it
Life is eternal - believe it

Mary Shelwood Poem
Every day i'm learning how
to walk a straighter mile,
I've even found a want to
greet a sadness with a smile.
I have discovered inner strength,
I know not i possessed,
A quiet peace that flutters,
Like a dove within my breast.
I've learned what is reality
and that it isn't smart to wear
One's heart upon One's sleeve.
I've learned to be more tolerant
with other's and myself
And that one cannot truly give, ......
Until one give's himself
I'm learning to appreciate
The days that hurry by,
To be content and know that there
Are none so rich as I.
I've found my true vocation,
What i was meant to do.....
And when ;life mocks to smile,
and say............
" I'm merely passing through!"

Mary Shelwood Poem
What a child goes through is hard to explain we've been through stress, anger, hurt, and
pain adults know what a child went through because you see there been through it too what
a child goes through is sometimes insane sometimes people offer us drugs like cocaine now
again on dark scary nights we hear sirens, gunshots, because of gang fights death takes
family and friends divorce takes them too oh if you only know what a child goes through

Mary Shelwood Poem
Today I found a friend,
Who knew everything I felt.
She knew my every weakness,
And the problems I've been dealt.
She understood my wonders,
And listened to my dreams.
She listened to how I felt about life and love,
And knew what it all means.
Not once did she interrupt me,
Or tell me I was wrong.
She understood what I was going through,
And promised she'd stay long
I reached out to this friend
To show her that i care
To pull her close and let her know
How much I need her there
I went to hold her hand
To pull her a bit nearer
And realized that this perfect friend I found
Was nothing but my mirror.

Mary Shelwood Poem
I thought she was my best friend
the best one i ever had
instead i found out the truth
and what i learn was sad
we still call each other friends
but i feel we're far apart
through we see each other every day
i have a broken heart
she has made new friends
and i have made some too
we are talking less and less
and inside i'm cold and blue
each and every night i pray
that she will finally see
how much i want our friendship back
and how much she means to me.
