My Drum

MY DRUM
My Drum beats different, and so I march. I'm not defined by any one person, thing, or force, and so I march.
I'm stuffed with all the good things 100% (BSE). That's best stuff ever, and so I march.
God don't make junk, and I'm not a garbage can. I was not sent here for you to put your trash in.
I am the head and not the tail, an ever changing entity. That is me.
A Man before all, I've build kingdoms and watched them fall. I have failed and so I win, and I've been weak but developed tough skin.
I have become everything in one; the sun, the moon, rain, pain, simple, and complex, there's not a word made, that can define me yet.
I'm Heaven sent, and at once hell bound. I search for the truth when there's lies all around.
I have opened up my mind, my heart, and my soul.
I sit at the table he prepared with my foes.
I let the light he gave, shine brighter than a man made.
I have become a strong black male, who's not afraid to fail, and God orders my steps from the start. He beats the drum, and so I march.

The Wind Chime, Chimes

The wind, chime, chimes
The wind chime, chimes. As my watch tells time.
Rain beats the ground, leaves scattered all around.
The trees are like me, I shed leaves of insecurity. They fall and fall.
Wind blows a chill familiar to my spine.
The street light glows giving reason to my rhyme.
I find that I'm not present at such a time.
Unexplained, unannounced. The wind chime, chimes....

From a Son's Heart

,
From A Sons' Heart
, From a Son's heart, may God bless you. Because he blessed me with a Mom like you. And no matter what I've put you through. Your love has never wavered, you've stuck like glue. From a Son's heart, may your days be long. May you dance to the music of your hearts song. May you lead the children with hands so strong. God knows those hands have guided me along. From a Son's heart, may the blessings rain. May the cold of winter, to you feel like spring. May your heart never feel any pain. For all the love you have giving me, its hard to explain. My words just don't speak, thats how much you mean to me, My heart just skips a beat.
