In This Place

In the deepest realm where our naked subconscious abides
In the abyss where all thought, emotion and memories resides
In the dimension of emptiness, where our minds eye holds the key
In the void between time and space continuum, we may never see

In all worlds, all scenarios, all plots we can conceive
In all hopes, all wishes, all achievements we can achieve
In all dangers, all angst, all fears we can conjure in our mind
In all feelings, of love, lust, the multitude of feelings we find

In this place, where we all go to at some point in time
In this place, where all thoughts and emotions intertwine
In this place, so vivid in our memory, now so hard to remember
In this place, where our imagination becomes our truest inventor

In this place, that I do not recall
In this place, that is no place at all
In this place, so real it may seem
In this place, is where I dream

Find Your Sanctuary

Find Your Sanctuary

Be it a long sandy beach, the waves crashing upon shore
Or in a deep forest glen, the wonders of nature to explore
Perhaps a long babbling brook will ease your weary mind
Or a quiet country road to travel, leave everything behind

Maybe it is your home, your solemn place to retreat to
With all your loved ones surrounding you, in all you do
Or is it your dearest friend that takes you back in time
Or perhaps you find being alone, solitude so sublime

Whatever it may be that eases your mortal soul
Transcends you to a better place, makes you whole
Reach out with your heart, find this person, place or thing
Find your own sanctuary and all the tranquility it brings

When the Angels Sing

When you can hear the angels sing

When you hear the crying of a new born child
When the birds perch upon the sill for awhile
When a hand reaches out in a time of need
When nothing but love and tranquility supersede

When of humanity learns to live in harmony and peace
When all of the anger, the hatred and violence decrease
When all of man and women kind find what they seek for
When of the world sings a certain harmony for all to adore

When gone is the ego that drives us all
When we reach out to all of those who fall
When we learn to appreciate who we all are
When we accept all mankind from near and far

When we are all one, children of earth
When we believe all life truly has worth
When the time is now, of what life shall bring
When all love finds meaning in everything

When you open your mind to anything
Is when you can hear the angels sing

Darkness

Darkness

In a quiet room the darkness encircles all
The slightest of shadows seemly abounds
Your eyes grappling to focus wherewithal
You become attuned to all the subtle sounds

Within the shadows lurk your deepest fears
In childhood memories of forgotten tales
Once again fearsome efficiencies appears
In your imagination, within all gruesome details

Deep within the psyche of the blackest hearts
There is this darkness where hate controls
Somehow hurt turning into anger imparts
Buried deep within their tortured souls

Perhaps that they not know the harm that they do
When consumed by only hate in their tortured souls
Controlled by past events they have lived through
Deep seated anger and hate takes many tolls

Darkness takes on form in many strange ways
Be it the void of all light, in a black, lonely space
Or the blackest of souls, of all those that betrays
Darkness can change into light within a loving grace

The Knight

The Knight

There once was a man, bravery beyond all compare
Bound to a king and kingdom, to the people in despair
Past battles to honour his king and his homelands
Willingly to lay down his life for all the many clans

His armour chinked, remnants of battles long ago
His sword in its sheave, ready to defeat any foe
His trusty steed, a long friendship, has been earned
His honour never falters, ones greatness , be yearned

On a solemn night, the king seeks, his one true knight
“You my friend, my protector, my one true guiding light
“My kingdom cries out to me, do you hear her distain
You are her servant, and of all your knights that remain “

“There is this evil that threatens, means to kill and destroy
“These marauding clans, many lands, many hoards to deploy “
“We must stand now, raise our swords, show we stand tall”
He cries "Today we shall live or we die", for the good of all”

"We must ride out to meet these ungodly, unworthy hoard
Let our bravery, feel their defeat with our blood stain swords
Each of us knights, swore an allegiance to God and our king
Now is the time, fight for the honour and glory that shall bring"

Such a battle, never seen in many of years past
Fighting for the honour, for the kingdom to last
Each knight wields their sword, victory seems
The one true knight, hearing the death screams

He stands tall in the saddle, seeing all the bloodshed
His knights stand true, lost in a field of crimson red
When an errant spear, somehow finds it's one mark
He falls from his steed, blood flows it's reddish dark

Knights kneel at his side, seeing death approach their brother
All of his warriors, humbly pay homage to a general like no other
They raise and carry his body and his sword
To honour his bravery, for his king and his lord

A king strangely kneels before his fallen knight
As if he lost his only son, sorrow lost in twilight
He stands, looks upon his people and he cries
“This my truest knight, his life, what does it symbolize “

All the kingdom pay homage to their fallen son
Raise banners, tell tales, sing songs of the one
The one true saviour, to our hearts remain anew
To our brave heart, his soul shall remain true

Time

Time

There is the essence of time in space, that we are not aware
There is a quality of time, that we wish we all could share
There may be times when you feel that time is on your side
Or time can be an eternity, lost somewhere in the great divide

There are timelines that we impose upon our daily lives
There are timetables that we set forth and attempt to strive
There are timeouts, whenever we believe events have gone awry
There are timeframes, life's memoirs lost in the sweet bye and bye

We have timepieces we wear, they remind us to be there
We have timekeepers, to tell us we should always be aware
We have timeshares, that are meant to share a part of you with me
We achieve timeworn, a reflection of what was and what must be

Never be timed with what you really want to achieve
Allow yourself to be timeless in what you truly believe
If we all live our lives with humility in a timely manner
Then our time spent on this earth shall truly matter

Within every second, minute, hour, day and year
Like the rhythmic beating of your heart you hear
Every breath you take, is such a true gift everyday
Because one day, father time will take it all away

Tick Tock, Tick Tock, Tick Tock, Tick Tock
Within the beating of our hearts, like a time clock

In Sadness and Sorrow I Now Weep

In Sadness and Sorrow I Now Weep

I In sadness and sorrow I now weep
N Never to see the one I loved so deep
S Saddened, cry weary eyes in retrospect
A All family and friends here in respect
D Day of sadness, as we all shed a tear
N Now all of us together from far and near
E Ending of a chapter, of a life of their own
S Sharing stories of the person we have known
S Smiling and remembrance of times that were shared
A Always knowing this day would come, though never prepared
N Now is our time to feel such loss, such sorrow and pain
D Desperately seeking the right words to say again
S Somber guest speak so quiet, seeking a familiar face
O Operatic music plays, seems so strange, so out of place
R Remembering the music that was apart of us all
R Rock and roll music we loved, we all had a ball
O Out of all our past experiences, all that we shared
W We friends carry on, a smile for the one whom we cared
I In this moment in time, we take pause to truly remember
N Never shall we forget the one, when a life turns to embers
O Offering help, in anyway to those who have been left behind
W Wondering, what solace I can give to ease their solemn minds
W Waiting for the right time, my condolences, to family in kind
E Each of us sharing the love within us all, the tides that bind
E Emotions shared, the celebration of life, such a blessing
P Pausing to give thanks for all the love in our lives, everlasting

In Sadness and Sorrow I Now Weep

The Gunslinger

The Gunslinger

There once was a honest man, a man of iron and steel
Vengeance filled his heart, a lust for blood so surreal
No one knows what calamity has forged his evil ways
Or of what rages in his cold heart, no man can ever say

In folklore some say, a law man he was, in a lawless, ruthless town
Tin star upon his chest, ivory handled guns ready for a showdown
Had a wife, a son, the makings of a life, a homestead to call his own
When a cowardly man came a calling, shot down his only home

When he finds his loved ones, lying still, blood spilt within the ground
Finding the lifeless bodies of the kin , his echoed screams an eerie sound
He falls to the ground, kneeling silently before their still lifeless bodies
Burying all of his anger, sorrow and pain, deep within his soul embodies

A rage filled his heart and his soul, vengeance must be bestowed
He rode hard and fast to find this man, to place him six feet below
He searched far and wide to find this man, let no one stand in his way
No sleep, no rest, till judgement by his own hand, may have its day

One day this angered man rode into a town like no other he has ever seen
Lawlessness abounds, folk seek refuge from the violence that has been
He reminds himself, this is not my fight, one thought, one man, one kill
Finish what your vengeance craves, then your thirst may finally be stilled

On this day he finally finds this coward of a man in a seedy local saloon
Playing cards and seeking women, not knowing judgement comes soon
His rage filled eyes glare, his muscles tense, blood in his veins run cold
Will bide his time, the need to look him in the eyes, tell what should be told

He finds his time, the next day he stares his cold death into his eyes
“You are the mangey coward that shot my wife, my son, tell me no lies”
“Do you have anything to say, before I place you deep into the ground”
As the coward raised his head, one shot ran out and he was downed

He walk up and stood above this man and watched him as he slowly dies
He waited to see the blood flow, see his last breath, no life left in his eyes
He turned to see the town folk, he saw the fear in their eyes of this man
He slowly walked away, vengeance had be wielded by the gun in his hand

Vengeance was his, the rage coursing in his heart was so deeply entrenched
His heart, broken, his spirit filled with hatred, blood lust never be quenched
He now possesses a black heart and steel courses though his veins
He rides with one hand on his holster, the other holding the reins

He rides from town to town, tall in the saddle, no place to call his home
His reputation for a fast gun, always tested, always he stands alone
With each and every duel, comes swift death to any and all that appose
Seems like a distant life ago, a different man, a certain destiny arose

He is now the gunslinger, in his holsters carry certain death
He is now yearning for it all to end, so he may finally find rest
So may ghosts that haunt, the dead eyes of all the lives he took
Hoping a faster gun may finally close this chapter of his book

The People of the Enchanted Forest

The People of the Enchanted Forest

In times of folklore where many a tall tale told
The town folk spoke of mystic stories so bold
Of a forest, never seen by the likes of any man
Where mystical beings lived in this forest as a clan

A place so very far away, though no one knows how far
A place somewhere, due east from the most brightest star
A place that is seldom ever travelled, never ever known
A place within the universal womb and mother natures throne

As a mere mortal man, I wonder, should I seek this unknown
As a mere traveler, shall my will carry me on my quest all alone
To find this enchanted forest, and the mystic people that reside
To be the one, find this magical place, in some far off countryside

As I begin my solitary quest to examine if these legends to be true
All these questions in my mind and all queries that I can construe
Do I seek these mystics for knowledge, or for the glory of my own
Do I understand the damage I may inflict, if I truly find their homes

I travel so far and wide from all I know and who I am
To many forests and woodlands, in many foreign lands
As I continue on, unsure of where my travels may end
Not knowing if I find them, what will I truly comprehend

While walking in a forest, seemingly like the ones I've travelled before
I notice an intricate path, leading out through the fauna and forest floor
From the main path, many smaller paths jettisoning out through the trees
As if they were veins that carry the life's blood to the trees and its leaves

Hearing in the distance a faint haunting song
As if lost in a whisper, where memories belong

“Oh gather yea young woodsman”
“Tis time since all began”
“At home, er in caravan”
“From whence all began”
“From earth and soil”
‘‘Tis where we toil”
“From Mother Earth’s spoil”

Examining the forest floor, looking up I see two silhouettes in the shadow
Two beings step out into the sunlight, stare and stand ever so shallow
Short in stature, long flowing gray hair and beards, earth soiled clothes
Looking at each other, with a look of bewilderment of what I may disclose

The one to the left, perhaps the elder spoke to the other, turning to me
Glaring at me seemingly for an eternity, not sure of what he truly sees
A booming voice, he exclaimed "Are you here to cause my kin and I harm?
Looking ever so long into my eyes, he says "No my friend, I sense no alarm”

“Are you of the many that walk these forests, though seem to go nowhere?
“Silly ones that come to look, to find, though seeking nothing anywhere”
“To find this forest, our home and life blood and leave their mark behind”
“To come and destroy our forests, all they say for the benefit of all mankind”

In silence, feeling shame for my race, compassion for what they see
Saying nothing, just to bow my head in respect to the beings before me
When I gained the courage to raise my head to speak in my races defense
I could not find the words to speak to ease any worry and strife against

I dropped to one knee, raised my head and gave my solemn vow
That I will never speak of what I have seen and heard right now
The two gave a deep loud exhale, as if this were their goodbye
Now I know what divulging any of their secrets would truly imply
