Food Talk

Carrots talk
Peas sing
A poet is the tangerine

"Celery," said Lettuce.
"What?" Celery said.
"What do you dream of when you go to bed?"

"I dream of people's faces
Coming so near
Eating my loved ones and friends so dear!

I know one day
That I'll be next
Until then, I'll do my best

To look my prettiest
To look so great
I won't regret the day I'm ate!"

Carrots can talk
Peas do sing
This poem was written by the tangerine

Trees

They help produce the air we breathe
Rustle their leaves soothingly on a windy day
Early birds sing from their branches
Each one is a home for many living creatures
Some are sacrificed to build ours

My Lillie

My "Lillie"

The garden is overgrown
The blooms are growing wild
They are missing the sweet lady
I remember as a child

She would lovingly water
Each and every stem
As she pruned her pretty flowers
She would talk and sing to them

As she nurtured her garden
She was ministering to us
She was showing how to have grace
To live in peace and without a fuss

Keep life simple and with Jesus
Share lots of hugs and a smile
As she tended to her flowers
She taught us lessons all the while

When I smell the sweet gardenias
Or see a lovely lily shine
I think of my grandmother
And I’m so thankful she was mine

Through her grace and kindness
She taught me more than she could know
I wonder, as she watered flowers,
If she knew she helped me grow

I miss walking through her gardens
And seeing her praying on her knees
She was a lily robed in glory
And her spirit blooms in me

Heartache

Big lazy blue sky
Summer is swiftly coming
I try to smile now
And remember your embrace
My winter love is no more

Marcy

Merry and forgiving
Angry at injustice
Romantic dreamer
Creative mind
Youthful at heart

Children
Innocent ones
Playing wholeheartedly
Hearts wrapped with tender love and hope

Soul Soother

Soft coastal waters
Lapping gently at my feet
Easing my sad soul
