Vegetable

Oh!! greenish vegetable
Thou has watched you grow
Like a chick being watched by its mother hen
Daily you are being watered
Just to allow your continuity.
You grow faster in a twinkle of an eye
And your green continue glowing
But it pains me so much that-
You'll end up in an unpalatable place
Which will make you whither away.
In a confined environment will you be placed 
So as to lose your source of energy
Cos the people of the world doesn't want your longevity
For the fear of being greener than other plants.

Abiku

With a great plan have I sojourn to this world
A plan to hurt my earthly parents,
To cause a non-lasting joy amidst them-
Through my purposeful death
And still coming back to the goddam world
Only to be reborn by my old parents.
I love it when you call me Stillborn
Cos I was never meant to stay
I was only meant to give you joy
Which will be short lived hereafter.
Causing pains to my mother is what I enjoyed most
By allowing her breast milk soured having no one to suck it
And thus,making me proud of my self
For I am Abiku.

Charades

I had wanted to be good
But was short lived by the inevitable
I had wanted to fulfil plans 
But was engrossed with the joy of unfulfillment;
And was caught up with the deadly messenger.
I had wanted to be give you all your desires
Giving you hopes on unrealistic things
Might be that's the only way you could learn
But the fearless messenger didn't allow it.
I had wanted to change the world for good 
Giving them the lies they deserve
To help then rethink
But this stupid fellow didn't allow me
Cos all I was doing were in charades.

Lamentaion

I have being bitten with a poisonous sting
Causing me greater pain
Making me feel unconscious
And allowing tears flow down my cheek

I have being bitten by an unseen creature 
Causing people to mourn with me 
Causing me to have that unusual thinking
And making me cry uncontrollable

I have being bitten with a poisonous sting 
Which makes neighbours and friends 
Comfort me to the highest extreme
And making them voice out 'sorry' to me.

I have being bitten by an unseen creature 
Who took my loved ones forever 
Putting their remnant in a forever bedstead
And taking their spirit away to the other side.

I have being bitten with a poisonous sting
Which makes a living creature 
Get separated from their loved ones
All because they are now at the other side 

Oh!! I have being bitten by an unseen creature
Which I know not who you are
And still believe that you're inevitable
Cos you'll still come back for me.

The Inevitable

You are the indescribable creature of God
Feared among humans
Causing anguish and pains-
To millions of people

I wonder where you hide your sting
So as for me go come steal it from you
To save others from your poisonous sting
And making us be happy forever.

You take away the holder of a body
You seize the blood of a human body
You take away other functional parts of the body
And making the body dead physically.

Through your sting,
You make children orphans,
You make women widows,
And men also, widower

Oh Death!!! Who are you to be precise?
You caused people to wail
You caused plans to be unfulfilled
All because you are inevitable

Are you a man or a woman?
Tall or short ?, Dark or fair ?
Gaint or dwarf ?, Fat or slim ?
I need to know.

Death

I am the deadly death
Most feared among all men
I cause calamities everyday
Though unseen, I am everywhere.
I am proud to be who I am
Among God's creature
I am the most deadliest and fearful
I cut peoples plan through my poisonous sting
Which is irresistible despite your intelligence
I am the reason you cry ,the reason you wail
You are powerless to overpower my powerful power
Not until my creator wants you to be saved 
I am death!!!

Love Not Reciprocated

I had waited and waited fruitlessly
For a day like this to come
A day when you'll finally
Feel the way I feel for you
All were only a dream
Because your heart was never for me

I had waited at the river bank
Hoping that one day
You shall come; meet me there
Holding my hands
Laughing to my unfunny jokes
And walking down to the river isle

I had always succumbed to your isms
Hoping that that will win you over
But all my hopes were dashed
Because your ism and my ism 
Was clearly different
Which makes me feel partially defeated

I had gone to your father's garden
Admiring the rose flowers there in
Sniffling into my lungs every sweet smell of each daffodils
Just like I have seen you do
But non ever made sense to you

You gave me zero hopes
Having been obsessed with my dream
Now I have realised
No matter how I tried
We just can't be together.
