The Beauty of You

The beauty of you

Ups and downs in life
This beautiful journey
If life was just good days
It’d be flat just like the Prairies

But its not
And neither are you
As much as we are the same
We are different too

Our beauty lies within
Sometimes it is in a dark place
Sometimes it is hidden
This beauty of yours
Is not just your reflection

This beauty is in your mind and heart
True beauty is inside you
Locked away like precious art

Please see the signs
Please find the clues
The true beauty of today
The true beauty of you

Is who you are deep down
And all that you have been through

Vicious Circle

He laid on that cold bathtub lonely and sobbing looking at his scars and crying like a baby bawling But you couldnt see his tears for all the water falling, no one heard his voice except the dealers he was calling. Kale Brereton January 19, 2019

I Can

They told me “I couldn’t” But I did Now they don’t tell me “I can’t” anymore Because “I can.” Kale Brereton 6/12/2018

No Walls

Man didn’t create the planets He didn’t make them spin He didn’t create love Or the warm feelings it brings He didn’t create the unspoken language of hugs Protecting love between He didn’t create our smiles Or the laughter it sings Remember the unspoken language Isn’t language at all Its something that no walls or borders can contain Kale Brereton August 5, 2018

Music To My Soul

Oh, how I love your sound How the rhythm makes me wild How it makes my head spin With oxygen How it makes my skin flush Gives a head rush Your music brings emotion To my heart To my soul Its music to my ears It makes my moment whole. Kale Brereton August 10, 2018

Precious Moments

The exhilarating feeling of breath after a run The feeling of warmth in your heart When your child is born The feeling of your heart pumping In anticipation of something more The sensation of gratitude When goals transform The feeling of tears falling when you smile too hard Are what these precious days are meant for. Disfellowshipped

I know you think i'm a horrible person
From what you have been taught
Your mind and time wasted
without a second thought

I realize that years have gone by
And that I hardly even know you
I want you to know that I love you
But when I look at you I feel sorrow

I am not like them
I am still your family
I am not evil
I am just a man.

Now we are in the same shoes
And you know what it is like
For a family to turn its back on its own
Is like living with no light

I want you to know that you are safe
And it's safe here to be yourself

I wont let them hurt you
I can be your shield
I ll be your protector
I can help you heal

I am so calloused and beaten
Yet I am so strong
I cannot stand the thought
Of a family member wishing,
for a family to belong

Enlightenment

As the morning star slowly faded away, he
started to see passion, and love within himself,
and where it was taking him that day. He began to realize
that which he had thought was unimportant yesterday,
was in fact, the most important seed he had planted
for tomorrow to flourish. With this new found
light he was able to look inward to the
darkest pits within his soul, and
                                           what he found there
                                                  changed his
                                                       destiny.

                                                   Kale Brereton
