Things I never knew I’d come to love
Sinking into this old leather chair, I never imagined I’d cherish it so much. Retirement’s first year has gifted me with time—time to sit, to think, to watch. Mediocre movies, once dismissed, now captivate me. Nigerian films, with their unique culture, have taught me so much. Though, I still can’t grasp the slaps and the “Are you mad?” lines. Some writers could do better, and the disrespect towards women is unbiblical.
I never knew I’d love my own company. Dining out no longer appeals like it used to. Making videos of my daily life, once a private affair, now feels like sharing a piece of my soul. What is privacy, if not isolation? I was meant to share my inner thoughts, my poems, my art with the world.
Life has no balance, they say, but to stay sane, we must find it. Helping others brings a joy I never knew. It’s a hope that they, too, might help someone someday. Some days, I feel complete, then fall back into uncertainty. I try to remember the color of silence—silence I never knew was a color.
Don’t paralyze the ministry
Afflicting it through selfishness-injury
While compromising with worldliness’ infantry
Bringing forth anguish misery.
Ministry* is leading people to the Saviour
Guiding them with love’s fervor
For transformation toward godly behavior
Radiating heavenly light of divine favour.
Beware of sin that hinders ministry-fulfillment
Abandon pride with its fatal impairment
Vanquish idolatry by Scriptures’ engagement
Overcome idleness through diligent involvement.
Let truth anchor your ministry-standard
Disloyalty is sure to pull you downward
Dishonesty can catch your heart off-guard
Disobedience – that you ought to discard.
God wants you to enjoy ministry-blessings
Let not dimness of vision instill in your souls cursings
Due to unbiblical appraisings
Thus, persist… anchored by spiritual enforcings.
*1Timothy 1:12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.

Harsh, dry words
Line the barren land
No one comes near
To understand
~just judge~
Phrases and chorded connection
Lie beneath the surface, gathering infection
Bees and bugs are gone
Nothing living to attract
Whatever nectar they took
They ain't coming back
~sucking succubus~
Flying fortresses trying to snag a home
Leaving the victim to go it alone
Hard to believe life existed
Before the storm wiped her clean
Not one of those actions or words
Were intended to mean
~barbaric breathing~
What can be birthed without a placenta
A babbling baby with a continuous agenda
Never try to speak a truth
About the condition of her mind
She refuses to see the unbiblical chord
That is choking out her fantastical find
~magical menagerie~
Just waiting for freedom and fun to appear
Without the responsibility for leaving fear
