Swirling Leaves

The leaves were changing as I walked my way, 
All different colors they were today.
I felt a calm presence I’ve felt before. 
A feeling of peace I couldn’t ignore.

Colorful leaves fell from the tall oak trees,
The flowers were alive with buzzing bees.
The life in nature seemed a part of me.
The creation from God for all

I cannot curse as others can,
I remedy, not hate.
Too well I know that beast in Man
That ever forms their fate.
Didst once we think that reason made
The mortal struggle cease or fade?
So lonesome were we that we sought
To give to dust that weapon, thought?
O, happy gods, who at our ease
May tend to treasures as we please!

Snow Falling, Swirling

I love snow falling, watching it blow and swirl in drifts, 
like a dance- snowflakes prance and twirl all night;
I walk, a nighthawk as the flakes unfurl their fragile gifts.

And at dawn, I yawn and crawl to my bed for some sleep,
I dream ... of white

The Dance of Illusion and Truth

In a world of synthetic dreams, 
Where nothing is quite as it seems, 
Emotions emanate and rise, 
Painting stories across the skies.

Swirling thoughts in a misty haze, 
Drift through memory's rustic maze. 
A timeless dance of then and now, 
Where past and present somehow bow.

Illusions play their tricky game, 
Reality's not quite the same. 
Yet

One For Mulder and Scully

Dazzling, synthetic lights emanate from polished silver,
Penetrating my deep, chemically induced sleep. 
Blinking sensitive eyes, I raise my swirling head.
 I sit up and walk into a corridor of glass display cases.
  

Rustic farm tools, mannequins wearing clothing from the past and present fashions, pottery from long ago…

Emigrating Birds Swirling

Emigrating birds swirling
in perfect, frantic sequence;
how delightful and exciting
is to watch their dance!

Who doesn't cherish their return?
It's the beauty and the essence
observed at a minimal distance...
as their wide wings turn auburn!

Swirling Aural Vision

I
awake
to swirling
aural vision
a dawn nirvana
dazzling  shades crisp allure
from earth to faraway sky
clouds  that drift, float and harmonise
birds that scatter leafs on green clad trees
imposing mountain peak’s peerless zenith

Early morning horde salute day ahead
zestful footstep mandate for gumption
fervour  under the sun-drenched copse
Water sprinkler’s icy spray
cast in rainbow droplet
wet haired strollers grin
beyond a douse
dream

Snowflurries Swirl

Snow falls inside the glass globe:
A swimming, swirling vision
Where four youngsters pose frozen 
In their run to leap to a win
For the longest sliding glide
Along an icy, country road
Where no traffic flows;
Near a row of evergreens
   that do not grow;
Overseen by a pair of pinpoint specks
    for the black,

Swirling the Soapsuds

 Down where the oregano is blossoming bright
The roses have grown quiet in their delight
Daylilies are shooting up spikes with buds
I truly long for sweet love, as I swirl the soapsuds

Noon
Beneath higher twig tips, 
    my heart flutters
Near converging branches.

Rests
Mid-high the strength 
    and distinctive character
Of a gnarly tree.  Embracing me.

It's early in the morning and she's never been to bed,

She wishes to peel back time and live days in reverse.
She wonders if this life has been a gift or a curse.
