Pain
Please stop the pain, the drain of the pain, infiltrating my life, my mind

Temporary relief in a bottle, not good for my stomach PPI's and Tums don't do it

Take it away, let me enjoy the day, my time, my life...

BIRTHDAY

I am 82
And feel it through and through
One more birthday here
With many years gone somewhere
I suspect I’ll get a cake

Get birthday greetings
I’m so leery of sweet things
Cards would be enough
Gut won’t stand the sugar stuff
Keep the tums handy old man...

Has Anyone Seen My Nun
Has anyone seen my Nun?

Because she was the one..
Who Split me up from my Mum

But Hey, Nuns are just there
To look after us and for them to scare

Mums with tums and little bairns
Who had fallen out their chairs...

So has anyone yet seen my Nun..
But better Still

Has anyone seen my Mum?

Not Quite Poetry
Every day I use my time
Writing poetry line by line,
Sometimes I can make it rhyme,
Sometimes....... I can’t.

My head is full of tum te tums
When I just want to write
The serious stuff on big long lines
like proper poets might

The words come out as simple ones
Not intelligent or deep,
Nor contemplative trains of thought
that make the reader weep

Poetically inclined I’m not
It doesn’t really matter
I’ll just keep writing day by day
And maybe I’ll get batter er..better...
