October Suns

October suns are a fire
that set the orange leaves
aglow
sprinkling embers in Maple leaves
to make them blood red.
October Saturdays always have sunshine.

opal and tourmaline
with blue atomic skies

October hushes
a cold snap, baldachin for
red, brown and gold leaf.
Indian summer waver, Indian rope trick
sent to douse earthen world shackle.
Bogus heat pump transience.
Polar air mass scatters migrant bird
on vibrant amber.
Ocean gust saline coated whisper
 to autumn eardrum host.
Nightscape shadows rudely cut across
the afternoon event space.

Eyes that look into a horizon
 masked in thinning fog

What do you see little seafarer
through eyes that change with the light

Inner illuminated with a fire burning ever so bright
Come home, come home, come home to me

The source of ignition calls remember me
As I have never forgotten you...
