Tangential Ben
Whenever I keep going off at a tangent,
There he is saying,
Means nothing friend,
And poits to a blank canvas....

Tangential
Tangential life should be the aim
Achieving a straight steady flow
Navigating the ups and downs
Generating a steady line
Evolving into mindful states

The Other Half of the Poem, After Dilly Dally
Taking a stroll, silently tip-toe
Talking to strangers, tangential existence
Strangled for talk, struggled to speak
Straight for the taking, tangible change
Take a short cut, time stands still

Love Philosophy
Early morning twilight rain
lasting an hour
a snapping of pictures
here and there-
the moon vibrates
no wave tides
away, the watch
hurries to some times
water is cool and hot-

Before I Sally Off
Before I Sally Off
Lost in Chicago
State and Madison.
Saturday, high noon.
Everyone and me.
Surrounded, I give up.
Against the curb,
the sea foams up
and in the distance
white birds soar,
black apostrophes
cleaver split
but still tangential,
rising, falling.
The light goes green.
Before I sally off
I look down and there
against the curb,
great white waters bowl
and people drown.
