Limerick: Once a Meat-Vendor in Mylapur

Once a Meat-Vendor in Mylapur*
Set up shop (O!) Brahmin virtue pure
No hungry customers
Knocked past the front shutters
Though brisk business raged at rear door.

•	Brahmin enclave in Chennai, Tamil-Nadu, India.
Brahmins were not vegetarians from antiquity.

Nose Ring

   Nose Ring

  Shine of our love,
  Plain of Liquid
  Cold of Mountains
  Glass of transparency
  Mould of Nature
  Beauty of Tamil
  Breeze of breath
  Body of Art in you
  Strength of electricity
  Circle of full moon
Fashion & Style of a woman

  Your nose Ring
  Your nose Ring

 With love all

Suburbia Revisisted
Electric Bleeps and bloops
Powerlines buzzing as the

Sunset going behind the roofs

O’lovely neighborhood lost
Facades of families
And degeneration
Of cultural paradigm
No crime
Just a hollow
husk town
Consuming the lives o’the poor folks
Sigh sigh
but alas
The community
dies
slowly

highway burning over the hill

and man I’ve got way too much

time

to kill...

Oogeling ougulluurzz,

Fidgety fogging verse!

Peoples are nodding to their words,

beats aren't so bumpy-
so they blotter on burbs...

Seasoning at saunter,

so he wander wanders,

bottoming the plotter who thinks its
'why bother?'

As a holy day walker-
streamin the fodder,

Poly pulls the jog on her,

says 'yes we'll get knocks-
to twist turns,

silly like talks in the chik~burns,
and the whispers.'...

with shoes on feet
a grab-and-run pack
a small survival sack
with one set of clothes for spouse and self
passports, a file with just few mails
an old diary with addresses to contact
in England, Finland, and Switzerland

and some currency notes
couple of thousands
in rupees that does not stretch
like the American dollars
they were what i needed most

as the pogrom was in progress
in my Tamil homeland
while i always went to bed
with shoes on my feet

Surd and absurd are – at bottom – synonymous!
Absurd?
Yes, of course.
So are canny and uncanny.
Sub- can mean high or (be)low
Post- can mean Post- or Pre-!
Again, in Tamil, naatram once meant fragrance,
Now it's its opposite.

Antithetical meanings of primal words,
As noted by Freud,
And as endorsed by Bloom.
Maybe a linguistic universal for Chomsky,
Freeplay for Derrida,
Language games for Lyotard,
And a mystery for us!

Leader
A leader's demise,
shook the hearts of millions.
Who made others realize,
power is seldom from victorious elections,
but in building a righteous nation!!.
With knowledge as vast as Kaveri,
eloquence of his Tamil speech delivery,
his absence making citizens question,
the plight of the nation,
who is to replace his position ?
The struggles he had endeavored,
millions of lives he inspired.
A Tamil patriot...
A True Dravidian...
Most of all, a humble human!!
