don't look down
don't be a clown
there's bad there's good
its well understood
if we stand hand to hand
in stead
LOOK AHEAD
I'm only fifteen,
And who do you expect me to be?
I just don't see what you see.
You suppose to be my dad,
but in stead you get mad.
making plans
have a hand
that will stand
trying do it yourself
have some one els
to help you think in stead
its better tohave
TWO HEAD
As we are here-nay, even dead,
all worthy shall be in our stead.
With all that we master, we guide others faster.
United, we travel ahead
Take note:
That none of my wants
Require currency grand
But in it’s stead:
Only friendly words, kind gestures
And caring touch of hand
An old biologist named Ulysses
Had a job identifying species
Ulysses was ****-backward
His technique manufactured
'Stead of faces, he examined feces
death speeding down the rail
desperate last breaths make appeal
‘stead of a dash to the rescue
speaking volumes
about values
camera flashes for
front page display
stand here
and stead
with staff
in hand
tawed
tined
and staid
Hob –
goblin
he, a
tricky
ol’ fellow
haughty
‘n hasty
in greed
Nothing else Matters
just Love.
There is lots done,
lots said,
lots thought
in Lieu of Love,
in Stead of Love
in Place of Love.
Nothing, none of these
Matter.
Just Love.
There was an old grandma
Who didn't live in a shoe
She did have children
But did know what to do
She put them to work
She played in their stead
Life was so lovely
It went to her head
red trails behind me
bleeding hearts lie in my stead
two halves, not a whole.

Positivity is the key to a happy life
Negativity pushes in and cuts like a knife
Not easy to manage
But avoid the damage
It'll stand you in good stead if there's an afterlife
My audience is dwindling here on the Soup
Perhaps I should write about love stead of poop
Seems I've lost my way
Need help I must say
To come in from the wilderness and get back in the loop
Have you ever been a bad finger flipper
Feels SO good when the situation's a gripper
You'll know when it happens
Stead of soiling your depends
Raise the finger, stead of being a fence sitter
Relations are strained between nations as usual
Why can't we play nice like good little poopers
Stead of rattling our rattles
Preparing for battle
An age-old scenario where we all act juvenile
Got up at 3:00 AM, sure had enough sleep
Coffee at 10:00, made me ready to dance and leap
Thought I might as well rise
Stead of giving it a try
Got up to ten thousand, counting all those damn sheep!
Your tears do not become your eyes.
Would my guitar weep in their stead
to drench and drown the shade that tries,
and charm a smile when woe has fled,
the fingers of my restless hands
would dance to soothing sarabands.
Wish I was handsome stead of a physical stud
With a body to die for, I'll let you guys be the judge
Good looks have advantages
But coz I eat many radishes
My complexion's glowing red so I'm switching to fudge
Imaginative stories read
by Mom to fill a small girl’s head!
She planted seeds by fancy fed
which later bloomed in me.
I've since been reaping in their stead
sweet joy in poetry!

As of this moment ?
What is the No 1 thing ?
You have missed above all ?
And what is the No 1 lesson ?
You think you have been taught ?
Or learned ?
Will stand you in good stead ?
Come whatever tomorrow brings ?
Have you ever in your life been a bad finger flipper
Feels REAL good when the situation's a gripper
You'll know when it happens
Stead of soiling your depends
Stand up, send the finger salute, stead of a fence sitter
Have you ever in your life been a bad finger flipper
Feels REAL good when the situation's a gripper
You'll know when it happens
Stead of soiling your depends
Stand up, send the finger signal, stead of a fence sitter

There were clean sheets on the bed
Neatly made with tidy threads
Cleanliness was always good
In their younger days as lovers laid as they should
But age now keeps them apart in their bed
Comfort important and sleep now in its stead.
