Remembrance
Today we remember the fallen
on foreign fields that were trodden
by armies at odds.
Our wreaths laid on sods
will ensure they are never forgotten....

Limerick-03
Suited-booted, friend of little gods
Comes to discover a new worlds sods!
Weapon throw in speech
Laugh on naked beach
Selling-buying in his tie of cords!

The Illustrious Balloon
Mid clouds of adulation,
topped with a golden crown,
he wafts so high above us
and smiles benignly down.
We lowly creatures wallow
here on these earthy sods.
Our eyes alone may follow
his passage to the gods....

Unseasonable
They warm,
midwinter’s summer days.
And,
by thinning blood in thickening veins,
for lustful and immodest reasons,
cause men to think,
against god’s odds,
they’ve managed to reverse the seasons.
We dumb-arsed, head-f***ed, simple sods....

One step forwards two steps back
Life deals me a king it turns to a jack
Seems since i was born i was destined to fail
Im the consumate dog chasing its tail

A Warming Spring
A stored ripening sunlight,
opens veins under wet sods.
We are conveyed on the thaw,
upon the guttering soil
through the squelching narrows
of wayside hedgerows.
Spring mops and sops,
breezes furbish,
unlock a pearly dew
to melt the frosted prints
of paws and claws....

Plebeian Lamentations
Tried and tested by a virus, novel
I sit by the hearth of my lowly hovel
Taxed some more, without relief
Our kings, of their infallibility, grow in belief
Stimulus packages to the Lords
Home based care for the lowly sods
Dynastic games they play
The masses can only moan and pray...

Library Thoughts 3
LIBRARY THOUGHTS 3
Sense stillness soar beyond bright beams,
Observe odd oar swift silence screams.
Note nowhere now those tensions taut,
Each end endows frame fickle fraught.
Green grass gathers such simple sods,
Meek mind mutters old offers odd.

Spring Song
Mud cracks its teeth.
Roots crunch and seep
a stored sunlight.
There are open veins
under wet sods.
We are conveyed above the melt
on guttering rapids
through the narrows
of squelching hedgerows
toward the drumming
of new-sprouted stems.
Winter thaws in hollows,
pushes heat into slick droplets
for the sip and swallow
of greening throats....

God of Atoms
God of atoms
break my purpose,
my workable clay.
Feed me
clumps of sorrow,
sods of joy
one particle at a time.
Seed me not too much
of your breakable sadness,
plow me much
with your passions.
Allow me, if it please you,
to dwell in this intricate husk
until the sky
make a nest in its marrow.
Let the dirt
of my fingernails
guide me inward
into your blooms.
And when I am ready
for the reaping
scatter my worms....

Judgement Day
It was weekly Judgement Day
And the Duty God
Wondered what to do
With all the miserable sods.
Send them to hell!!!
They’ll wallow with delight
Praising the lord
Because they were right:
Because they created
So much hell on earth
Maybe I’ll send them
Back for rebirth
Maybe they’ll learn
It wasn’t just a rumour
That we gave mankind
A sense of humour.@
Now let’s decides
Today’s winner
Of The Award for the most
Amusingly Original sinner...

Insurge
Though comatose,
i reflect on those,
grim spirits of disaster,
some do claim Abraham an Moses,
That God is yet their master,
Slaughter cannot be divine,
a bloody karmic pantomime,
the will of God does make it shine,
I will ask in the hereafter.
thank you Mr Maverick's "Insurging".
Don Johnson
God is used to justfy,
selfserving sods misquote the why,
to serve their point of view with passion,
and overstep their rightful ration,

Grasping Nettles
My father showed me how to pull nettles without being stung.
With a confident and downward grasp and without hesitation,
To grip and flatten the stinging hairs by following their direction
but I have never reached to do it, or had any to pull in my city garden.
I watched him dig sods with a spade and turn them over row by row
So that weeds would bury beneath each shiny clod and not regrow
But I have never had more of a garden than a small brick-paved courtyard....

Religions
The opinion of and worship of a controlling power,
The belief in and worship of a god or gods;
With designated behaviours and practices,
Disciplined by priests, preachers and other sods.
Love and hate, animosity and respect,
Antagonism, enmity, loathing and hostility;
Desire, warmth, ardour and passion,
All of which created by religion’s antipathy.
Jealousy, grudge, resentment and covetousness,
With malignity, spite controlled by enviousness.
Religions
For like us minions....
