Mediocre Man

There once was a man that was lackluster
Who's life was one giant cluster
Writes a suicide note
He slits his throat
Blank stares are all his family can muster

Disposable Love

I crave that blade that slits my wrist,
I’m not afraid of this.
To ease the pain this wicked way, leave
it be to remain twisted I’m not ok.
Devoted to cut was the motive for blood,
Disposable Love.

Liquid Diet

she ate less food
thought was good way
she could lose weight

so she drank beers
now appears drunk
she lears through slits

face all puffy
skin has grey tone
wrong way to slim

The Unaffirmed

Withered zest of life, and ashes of bleak hope,
will have been seeping through the slits of this green heart,
For one that was not imbued with love,
is meant to forevermore remain dry and torn apart.

Stitch Mirror Oddquain

               Torn,
         left wrinkled;
With a jounce they fall
an array of pieces spread,
              burned
                eyes;
Buttons replace cut out slits
with new perception;
          Paper Dolls
             stitch.

She Sleeps

Light wind plays the curtain across her face
so tired
she feels the flick of it, and slits her eyes
just dusk
there is a wait and a cry from the hallway
and yet
light wind plays the curtain across her face
she sleeps
paralysis of a new mother the baby cries and still
she sleeps

Limerick: Once a Born Blind Man Was Promised Full Sight

Limerick: Once a born blind man was promised full sight

Once a born blind man was promised full sight
By an ophthalmologist fully tight
Two slits and dabs all told
     Saw in wonderful world –
Beauty Contest: gouged his own eyes outright.

Interposition

The whisper of a whisker
At my window
Scratches at my eardrums
Like inch-long nails on a chalkboard
In the hot sweaty classroom
Where I grew old
So like a student greets the bell
I greet the reaper
Who stares at me through the glass
Through the night
Through thin slits
In catlike eyes

The Lake I Run

Slits of sunlight dappling the lake I run.
Even dragonflies buzz about with importance.
Against all odds, I'm against all the odds.

Glistening listening to love laps.
Lush rushes of hot air.
And wet lips with slips and rips and ripples,
So sleepy on a summer day.
So nice for you and me to stay.

Dark Nostalgia.

A town unlocks their Baptist cage.
They shout and scream unholy rage.
The scorching sun sears all beneath,
Forsaken whips snap from their teeth.
Their eyes are slits that sting of salt.
Born black; born here; it's all his fault.
And what they learned at mothers' knee,
keeps cadence, creaking, from a tree.

In the Meantime

I've picked the scabs until they bleed,
And then wonder why they never heal
Is it just a compulsive need
For pain to be what I mostly feel?

A Masochist- Antagonist!
Perfect Punch-drunk Pragmatist!
The Hypnotist who slits his wrists-
And I shall suffer in the midst

The Agony cuts one half of me
(I'll bear the brunt of all of this...)

Gifting Away

Want to return,
to unknowing, the
trap door.

Filling up the gaps,
the arrow slits. No more
I will need weapons.

Trespassing the,
brutality of sin, committed
against the sanctity?

of body. This is how
I am re-creating myself
without morbidity.

Annihilation , was not
the answer. I am holding
the gold leaves of sun.

Venetian Blinds...

Levels horizontally fixed
angles of light are tightly fit
geometrically spaced slats
fragmenting our perception flat

Narrowed slits squinted view
awkward sight for most in lewd
unaware of drawstring near
lifting veils vision clear.....

Trapped below the shadow of self
angled heights obscuring shelf
empty pantry up above
as lower self continues shove

The Old Shops

A row of shops left abandoned
People fled to towns
Wooden planks left out of place
Slits and holes penetrated through
Small ferns growing wild
Deep inside hollow and dark
A home shifted
A broken shop remained
Everything has fell asleep
Except the glory of the past
The history of the past
The bustling life of the past
And the mourning of the passersby

He No Longer Loves

He is no longer in love with me. His spoken words flesh caught like dull razors. Churning pains toss me in raw seeped reelings. I feel feather fragile as weighty aches conflict and trip me upon foreign ground. Heavy, my eyes are merely tear-weak slits. God, in prayer I do ask, with mercy come and ease my wrecked self with gift feels of numb.

My Heart Soars

Clouds like sand ripples 'pon the beach
Only their color dark
Almost black, whispy clouds of white
Cobalt blue clouds make mark

Rising sun makes some glow with light
Slits in the clouds show red
Soon the sun will be up and warm
The beauty of morn fled

Thank you Lord for another day
Abundant blessings pour
Whether in showers, sun or storm
Your Love makes my heart soar

Eulogy

In a flash
Watch change dash
Clears old trash
In last crash

On verge brink
Feel last think
A torn link
As thoughts sink

Time cracks wall
Loss claims all
Here frames fall
In lost gall

In tight squeeze
A strange breeze
In last sneeze
No more grease

Words tell bits
Of last fit
In lost wit
As death slits

2000s People

We come alive at night
When the world succumbs in silence
Led on by neon lights
We travel the darkness

We sneak through the streets
Of barbed danger
Tonight we cover our slits
With pills and laughter

The moon is up
Creating our shadows
A favorable shot
For all those who "follows"

The night is young
My generation is wild
In houses we hung
Living the time of our lives

Daytime Rain

What time of day it is I do not know
Except that like some fish doped out of the deep water
I've bobbed up bolly wise from stream of sleep
It is drumming hard here and I suppose everyhere
Dropping with insistent ardour upon our roof thatch and shed
And thro' sheaves slits open
To thunder and lightening
So,lets roll over on our back
And settle to the sleep of the innocent and free.

Haunted People Never Sleep

You slept with your eyes open.
I’d glance over in the
haze of midnight
hoping to catch you
watching me
like I watched you.
I was willing to
peel back the shadows,
tear down the thin façade
to let you see my battle scars,
or even simply just
kiss away your chaos.
Instead when I looked over,
I saw those white slits,
as if a ghost resided there
and I would fade back into
haunted dreams.

The Cognitive Colander

Perhaps it is weary. In the mental hourglass. I rummage through my recollections. Along the back wall of the speakeasy. when the public voice has spoken Perceptions. Grace from a bird's-eye view. love's twisted rails Smell stolen. We slipped down the rainbow's edge. Above my eyes, I have grey stripes. Grey slits go over my eyeballs.

Nervous

Pain surging within, pins and needles.
The end is coming and I can finally rest.
Bringing a white dress along to marry in.
Filing for divorce from a decrepit planet.
Kissing oblivion, wishing it a goodnight.
Remembering only the heartache filled past.
Wishful thinking, rendered unnecessary.
Proper slits in wrists, no stitches needed.
Property of a dying world, never ending.
Smiling into the darkness, sweet naivety.

Deep Cut

You act as if my life is a book,
You slam it on the table and open it to see what's inside,
Your rough hands rip out the pages and crumple them between your fingers.

The sun shines within my eyes,
Sometimes it warms you,
Sometimes it burns you to the core until you wither and die,
Sometimes it is as sharp as a razor blade,
It cuts you, and it slits your wrists,
But then you remember that you were the one who held the knife
