Threads of Life

In the flashes, the acts...
       continuous skein of days
       the needle sews the tears,
         love heals wounds...!

Into broken heart sews it whole

In This Small House (For Children)

In this small house,

The winter sews pillows

The sisters- the blizzards weave fluffy carpets,

The old man with a white beard

Draws the ice pictures.

He rings with the crystal handbells

And composes the magic dreams

For children.

Premium Member Off Her Feet, Into His Arms

She cooks, she sews
    a relic of the past
  the way the world goes

  A dimple in her cheek
brave hope holed up in her heart
that one knight in shining armor
    can still do his part

to sweep her off her feet
    and into his arms
  where he will bask forever
    in her winsome charms

Premium Member The Threads of Destiny

Woven threads, of fate's design,
A girl child's future is intertwined.
With education's needle, strong and fine,
She sews her path, a destiny divine.

Each stitch a lesson, a wisdom gained,
Her tapestry of dreams is unchained.
She weaves her life, with skill and grace,
A vibrant future, she will embrace.

Everyone Knows Jesus Arose

Everyone Knows Jesus Arose

Jesus arose and I do suppose
That everyone am sure knows
To heaven is where He goes.

Feel him in wind as it blows
And see after the lake froze
Grass that grows and grows.

He protects me from my foes
Together my life hems and sews
Is my savor and was He I chose.

Soon the Day will Take Me

Where mind sews cobwebs, I take out a dissolving spyglass. The space between this self looks back seeing nothing. That which holds, rolls over mind-clouds, finding no anchors. The day will take me soon, make me be what I claim to be, but in any next pre-dawn surfacing, I will know again, that I am not.

a moment be as...
a 'mow-meant' to clear
any space we be...

in

so time as change be just...
so that whatever any mom-meant leaves behind
sews a new space-time present...

that

be for what follows it next and...
be itself as the new space-time moment that will
become a staircase to another new future...

Premium Member Shadow

a shadow is a reminder
of
where you came from
where you're going
who's running beside you
who you left behind
who left you behind
who you're chasing
who's haunting you
who's enchanted you
what you're sliding from..
who you run to when life's sprinting by-bye you

dusk will cleave the shadow
but the sun sews it back onto you

A Boon

Gentle soul grant thee a boon
the dawn is coming much too soon.
No I won't wish for treasures there
not silver thread or starlit hair,
not for the passion of a comet's blaze
nor golden glow of starlit haze.

My only wish to hold the pearly moon
that rests at the throat forever.
That loving, glowing midnight rune
that sews my universe together.

Thee A-Sunder

Thus wilting becomes of me, the star so constant, yet so lonely,
Was tiss the hight yet to be reached, what is our limit?
Thy'est thunder reaps my soul for what it sews...
What tiss thee end?
Ney encomber thee, powerfully tempted, upon thee,
What tiss the end?
A'Loft, a-sunder, encombered, enwrapped in a colapse
Of thoughts falling like snowflakes in the sun.

Grandparents Empty Nest

grandparents don’t want time out
the music stops from children’s tops
gone are the days they played with toys
spilled food dropped cleaned up with mops
cuddling in blankets, sews bonding joys.

photos in a scrapbook reviews the past
grandma & grandpa’s pride hangs on the wall
sentimental thoughts of blessings to last
lets have them back when they were small.

Suzy Rose

Suzy Rose had a knack for clothes
All she does all day is sews
Picking out the finest cotton and feathers
But she can never dress for the weather
Cometh down rain, snow and thunder
Suzy's outfit is always a disaster

Fear not, Suzy is a woman of prosperity
She doesn't drink juice, she drinks tea!
Cometh down rain, snow and thunder
She'll just wear 7 layers under!

What We Do

A rooster struts, an eagle soars,
A caterpillar inches;
A dolphin leaps, a panther slinks,
A crab, if bothered, pinches.

A farmer reaps, a tailor sews,
A chef sautés and seasons;
A dentist drills, an artist paints,
All with their private reasons.

My husband vacuums and he cooks
To keep his psyche going,
While I write rhymes so I’ll recall
Which way the wind was blowing.

The Melody of Singer

My mother is now very old,

A widow of tales untold,

First gift,"mahar"of my father,a sewing machine to her, singer sold,

To my mother this machine is like gold,

She still sews in memory of Thajudeen to hold,

Singer machine sings d..e..e..n...d..e e..n like a doll,

Singer machine sings d..e..e..n...d..e e..n like a doll,

My mother enjoys the melody of singer in many folds!

Shameful Acts

The outrage spills
sews evil seeds
reaps injustice
as innocence bleeds.

Misguided few
opinions flawed
fallacious minds
spurred by fraud.

Seek what's true
for better aim
this acting out
shall bring you shame!!

Violent destructive acts upon the property of others, (Tesla) for whatever reason, cannot be justified, you are a criminal and you should be severely punished!!

Premium Member She Sews So She Does Not Kill Anyone

She sews for the neighbors
She sews for us three
She sews for her children
She sews for me

We are in awe, for she makes beautiful things
We are amazed at her talent, and the happiness she brings.
She sews at night, in the morning and noon sometimes.
We love her products, they are free, cost us no dimes.

She sews and sews and none of us know why.
Until we see her sewing poster and feel lucky we do not die.

Gina

Gina
always lights up a room
a smile as big as a lollipop
smells fresher then new cut hay
loving as a new puppy
works harder then a beaver
heart as big as the grand canyon
the specialists person in my life
cooks better then sara lee
fishs better then bill dance
more outdoors then davy crocket
sews better then a sewing machine
builds better then the amish
drives better then jeff gordon
glows brighter then the sun
thats why we love gina

Premium Member Waiting For a Prayer Pt 1

The wound saddened her and the scab would not dry.

She is frayed but with dignity sews and patches herself.

Time ticks as she waits patient, alert for the door closing.

And she waits.

Her clothes are torn from too many washings.

Too many stains. They should be thrown away.

But with tenderness she tries to make it work, once more.

And she waits

If you can hear me . Now is the time for help.

Sewing her dreams one by one helps and the waiting.

The Human Anatomy

Living
is to crystallize into candid shards,
fragile as the tremble of a glass too full;
is to pierce oneself like the sun
sews ray to ray across its mighty core;
is the center to which the ocean
folds in on itself,
glittering a gown of sand
into kaleidoscopic swirls
of glass and salty mists,
flaking lips.
Existence eagerly dips its pale toes in,
sea water slipping through slackened eyes.
It seeps back whence it derived:
a cage of bones.

Fake

Sleeping with the devil against your will
You lie down he does too
You turn the corner he mocks
Just being a copy
Full of raw stuff
Never coming to knowledge of his own
Looking to steal from your life one more time
Hold and cover
The order of his dine
Needing to create a mind
Empty of which way to go
Filling self by way of others sews
Like a stuffed animal
Without reason he molds
Spewing back out hearing in mind
No original agenda cooking

Premium Member Grandma's Artwork

Grandma's quilt
     Hand-stitched memory patches
     Not one piece another matches

Artful legacy
     Sews family ties together
     Crafted by hands now weathered

Captured moments
     Prom dresses that ever dance
Within love the flowed from grandma's hands

Unique reminders
     Weddings, first dates, recitals
     Embrace in grandma's revival

Adorned crib
      Quilt that covers a newborn
      With memories of ancestors gone
