Dusty Road

   Dusty road covers your shoes
     scratchy throat, raspy your blues

Keep walking, keep going, it’s all you can do
phone’s dried up too, ain’t no more good news…

Blue Bells

Bells with blues play bent cup dinged; discordant, dongs and dings. Soft and raspy tones that mumble, rings rung as fuzzy rumbles and grumbles, rather than clear resonate rings. Sad Bells Blue

Rod Stewart his name, a weaver of dreams, his fame His raspy voice was apparently appealing all the same Can't argue with that Pulled success out of a hat His sexy voice made ladies melt and become inflamed

The Murder Diaries Iii

Raspy, sexified tones began tightening
Like nooses around my throat
A trail of corpses appeared nonexistent
To millions of natural eyes
Catastrophically I was yet another victim
In the pages of murder that she had composed
She must be found…

Reality

Muffled screams
Blurry voices
Heavy doors
Reality or in my head

Tired eyes
Raspy voices
A stabbing silence
Reality or in my brain

Heavy thunder
Camouflaged talk
Letting go
Reality or the end

Muffled screams
Blurry voices
Heavy doors
Reality or...not this again

These Small Pleasures

Arm, lightly wrapped
in the soft grasp of your paws

Hand, gladly receiving
the tender ministrations of your raspy tongue

We lie together on the floor
with the November sun bathing us
in its subtle warmth
and I say thank you,
to our gentle God
for these small
pleasures

His Last Ride

There was once an old geezer named Bernie,

Who was nearing the end of life's journey.

With a raspy voice he cried,

            "Life's been one helluva ride!"

As he was whisked away on a gurney!

Warm Waters

don't misunderstand
i love feeling happy.
i live for the moments
that make my voice raspy.

gazing up at the moon
and i'm wrapped in a trance.
a willow tree waltzed around the lagoon
and asked me for one last dance.

warm waters, i see the river flooding.
warm waters, i know a change is coming.

Raspy Words

So many are saying things unkind, disparaging or hurting some other. Saying whatever crosses their mind, and often the truth they will smother. Often each story is slightly slanted, with a straight face, many belie. Once it’s news it can’t be recanted, and half a truth is still 100% lie.

The End

THE SUN BURNS ON MY FACE LIKE THE CRUST OF THE EARTH.

MY FLESH FEELS LIKE DEW AS IF I WERE FRESH FROM BIRTH.

I LONGED TO HEAR UR RASPY VOICE BLOWING THRU THE TREES.

AS IN OLDEN DAYS WHEN THE SOUND WOULD BRING ME TO MY KNEES.

I'VE OFTEN WONDERED WHAT I'D SAY IF I SAW UR FACE AGAIN.

BUT NOW THAT I HAVE IT'S BITTERSWEET AND NOW THIS IS THE END!!!!!!

Fatal Truth

FATAL TRUTH
It was the innocence in your eyes
That poured out a dawning glow
You smiled and a thousand worries
Unbundled the heart
Your flow was raspy but gentle
Melting through every breaker

But your sudden thunder
Brings a wholesome wonder
Thus to every darkened" sun
There arises a lone voice
Stirring the heavens
To spread its lights
Only on one

Him

His voice, commanding attention
Deep and loud, raspy around the edges
Slight twang, powerful, engaging
I raised my eyebrows

My attention was arrested
Social media, topic of conversation
Idiotic people skills, his point of view
I stood up and grinned

Amused, I surely was,
Fingers talking, rubbish content,he rasped
Just like silicon boobs
I burst into laughter

Simply the Best

We mourn the
        death of Tina
             Turner;
                 her raspy voice
                      was simply the best.
A mix of
         pop rock,
             soul, and blues.

Her songs
        earned her the
             title of
                 Queen of rock and roll.

And her worldwide fans loved
        her;
             androgynous voice.

A Land of No Return

At the mention of death
everyone freezes
And so draw in their last breath
Lay very still in your coffin
with faces looming
don't worry; its common
high over their heads you are,
they're chanting something,
I'm not headed to a car.
This roads kinda bumpy
you open your mouth
my voice sounds raspy,
I'm being dragged like a doll
they're lowering me
ahh, I've finally reached my goal...

Breath of Autumn

You can feel the breath of fall
as she blows cold air across the plain
she whispers to the sun
asking it to shine a few more weeks
while she gathers the bountiful yield
bringing closure to the seasons warmth
night temperatures begin to plummet
her breathing becomes raspy
as coldness encases
her labored breathing ceases
with a final breath she
brings forth winters frost.

Rainbows

Glaring shadows orchestrating the shape
Of searching for the rainbows sparkling end
So yellow beyond the airy dreamscape
The raspy wind with a howling ascend
Looking intently at the wide sky gape

The mountains worshiping from blue yonder
Celest rainbows born of peeping sunshine
Beyond the reach, betraying no wonder
Through veil of another sparkling design
With eyes of shadowy, landscape ponder

His Wicked Game

The unforgettable wild stare in his eyes
?The tenderness in his raspy voice,
?His slow lingering touch melts my core
?The caress of his lips on my neck,
The rising heat consumes me
?He knows he has me right where he wants me,
Pushed on to the bed.
?Lying naked before his wicked his smile,
One last look taken,
?One last touch felt,
?One last kiss tasted,
He left me lying on the bed in a heated mess.

Dawn Is Coming

I see blue sublime haze of Joni's voice

singing us this song to set us free

I see Joni's raspy, wispy, blue sublime voice

taking me back to college days when we spoke of freedom

immersing that wounded child in love

backed by a chorus of angels

on the pale white horse

riding into the sunset

telling me that truth is coming

love in every soul on planet

all but the last parasites of humanity

dawn is coming brothers and sisters.

Momma

Was there when it first happened
In crimson red
New instantly it was bad
Tests confirmed worst fears
Stomach churning and eyes burning
Things would never be the same
Months and pounds pass
Looks of concern routine
Well wishes get old
Thoughts of frustration mount
Somehow spirit still intact
Raspy breathing barely audible
Beep…beep…exhale
Last lucid thoughts not of self
Lying limp in my arms
Goodbye momma
Goodbye

The Echo Returns Not

The stars dance across the sky
A nightly recital of spinning and whirling
They’re in the spotlight here
But I know they’re invisible to him
Playing hide-and-go-seek offstage
I scream his name to the cosmos
In some sort of harrowed cry
Or desolate plea for redress
It comes out raspy, choked
The faraway stars have no reply
The echo returns not
I’m left standing in the dark
Mourning his mindlessnesses
Bombarded by the silence

Passionate Touch

For Timothy Lee
I oft lose my composure watching you near for love as a muse stays our passion infused. My insides are deliciously alive within delights your persona designs. Deep love still flames your ardor to ignite me in smolders scored by surrendered cries. Your calloused hands always feel like alpha plies of paradise your cravings ignite and I recall my first touch brought your raspy sigh, “Your soft slow hand feels like flitting fireflies.”

Monsters Madness

Thunder rumbles lightning flashes.
Druids chant rhythmic runes.
Electrifying tonights mood.
Tis Draculas Halloween bash.
Wolfman arrived in a mask
And his houndstooth zoot suit.
Six witches with red sashes
Flew loops on hickory brooms.
If Frankensteins' bride laughs
It sounds like raspy kazoos.
Ten fashionable tom cats
Wore bat festooned top hats.
As The Ghouls band played bassoons.
At Count Draculas bashes
Each dance is monster's Madness.
But the punch was new hemlock brew.
