Purple myrtle forests, a wild mountain girl;
you, a wanderer of dust, your poems faint and wind-blown.
A lifetime lost in the city’s maze,
offering morning sunlight and evening rain.
Your poetry—fog of forgotten provinces—
danced wildly in the bright dream-sun.
Your laughter hid the teachings of the Buddha;
you lifted a flower and questioned the moon and stars.
Out of the provinces, lies my line...
Toiling the toxic night,
Nightmarish lackey of the routine...
I, child of the leaves...
Left the soil,
My Memsahib detached...
My soul beats the sidewalk,
A drain to a city's sidewall...
Am a volatile turbine,
Urging my soul to rest in the shed,
Away from the jostled shadows...
Losing time,
I lose the fragrance of the sunshine.
I-ndigenous inhabitants/people
G-enuinely
O-ccupying the mountainous
R-ealm that was
O-fficially
T-ransformed into
S-ublime scenery.
For my IP roots from the mountain city and provinces of the north, also known as Cordillera, that has been practicing unique cultures and traditions for years, blended with the cultures of some European and North American countries, especially the love of country music.

When the world
closes in and presses all ill
to squeeze what space
you have into a tiny ball -
there are always
places where you can go,
be it a quiet wood
or beside a pebbly stream
or any other refuge
your soul can dream.
Such places are beyond
the machinations
of the State, safe provinces
of the creative mind,
chaos and tariff free -
the real estate
of the Sublime.
