Poems That Bore Me
Poems That Bore Me
Lazy, crazy, hazy
Poems with zero meaning.
Or~ words to make us not think.
Like playing the same key on the piano.
....plink....plink....plink.....
Sends me out the door, to a bar, to
....drink....drink....drink....

Plinkety-Plink, Plink, Plink
An icicle drips, drips
its measured drops
Plinkety-plink, plink, plink
on my window, like rain
Each drip, every drop, a paralysis of time
Plinkety-plink, plink, plink, plink, plink, plink, plink
Will these cursed drops never end
~ Will she never be mine...

Shotgun Intention
plink and plunk
like rain of a small
caliber rifle on
a metal roof
and then a large
discharge from
a barrel that
unlike a sprinkle
of rain tears
a cloud apart
with such lightning
and thunder that
it leaves little doubt
of the commitment
of its intention...

Flip-Flops
Plain droplets plink downward risk-free.
Rain, that bristles on panes, weighty.
Rip-roaring, soaring, not boring,
as wind assists an outpouring.
Angled and claustrophobic dance.
Can’t see the light; cars take a stance.
Sky, a blue-gray, wiper flip-flops.
Shy, the soft pelts of ho-hum drops.

Tap and Sink
The tap and the sink had a brawl
(the pair being stuck to the wall)
the cold tap smashed the sink
with a crash and a plink;
serenely watched by the pee stall.
Interposed did tap’s buddy, drain,
(who held up the sink with a strain.)
Dear sink is in pieces;
her value decreases;
she once was so smart and urbane!...

Simply Birds
Simply birds chirp, chirping in song,
belonging to a cloudy day.
Simply birds plink, plinking paradisaically.
Wee angels with harps in their wings.
Simply my teeny, tiny forest at play.
Tweets twine like ivy, inviting a smile.
Simply the sweetest sound of mirth.
Sans birdsong, saddest silence on earth.

For Love of Dolphins
Smile that smile,
Trick after trick,
Aqua-powered playmate:
Click, Click, Click.
Yummy tummy up,
Flip about;
Round and round,
Inside out.
What're you saying?
What do you think?
Underwater Crooner:
Plink, Plink, Plink.
Burst into song,
Compassionate friend:
Your high-pitched soprano
My heart does rend....

Self Inflcted
The drop of blood hit the clear
water exploding, dispersing
like smoke in air. A second
drop then a third in the same
manner, my very being drains
before my eyes. Plink, plonk,
the waters hue now a subtle
shade of pink, deeper with
every droplet. I now gaze that
rouge reflection and think to
myself, it's about time I put
a new razor blade in this razor....

Rain Harp
The fluidity of strings, the rain harp ~
tears of joy and sadness spill, from incense
prayers of cacophonous clouds, clapping loud.
Sweet cherub fingers plink, spot on and sharp.
Wings whisk away the doldrums, banish doubts.
Tenderly, the raindrop symphony, lifts
the spirits of the drenched fallen earthlings.
The lilting psalm of living water spouts.

Urning the Rite To Make Sense of It All
Urnestly, I search for words
buried beneath the veneer.
The rite way to ashes and grief.
Contained in a purple jar,
her only tear— a hoarder's memory.
Death makes no sense, the
bed relied upon— a cramped space
in the dark, not at all
what I was expecting.
No marker with flowers.
Her jar’s become a place of “cheers.”
Dad’s tears plink into his afterglow martini.

A Hungover Refrain.
Plink, plink, plink.
the tap drips in the sink,
the dishes left since saturday have now begun to stink!!
Tick, tick, tick,
The clock makes me feel sick,
I feel so bloody awful that in my seat i'll stick,
Thump, thump, thump,
my head's a toxic dump,
my stomach churns like crazy, my whole body's in a slump,
Why? why? why?
I feel like I could die
"I will never drink again" as usual I cry.

Why Raindrops Drip and Drop in Time
Why raindrops drip and drop in time,
not timorous; divine.
A splash, playful
in a pond of koi brass.
Tines of Sankyo, priceless precipitation;
A plink and plunk, Chopin;
“Till the End of Time,”
that is why raindrops
hold their gravity,
until the fruit
of their musicality
must be mined,
be longed
by great golden fish
with open lips
excited by the weather
without human palms
to catch, a catch
that croaks and grunts,
that fills the pond....

Tink Tink Tink
tink tink tink, the keys begin to plink.
thoughts begin to fill the air.
i no longer sit and stare.
quieting the rush of silence.
on this nicer side of the fence.
courage just to say a word.
now this brave soul can be heard.
fill the page with inspiration.
take the mind on a vacation.
sharing thoughts with all the world.
layers fall as they're unfurled.
this is what we call a gift.
even if we never shift.
so enjoy the once again.
words that get put down in pen....
