unspeakable love
met me at the door everyday
scratching with his paws
he never missed a day
telling me he loved me in his own doggy way
(for the contest)
With eyes so big and innocent
all he sees is joy
brings me so much pleasure
he's my Buster Boy
Such a mellow little fellow
the world is his playground
always keeps me smiling
whenever he's around
Quick to give his lovin
run his tongue across my face
it's his way of telling me
no mutt can take his place
Gray Ghost Queen is seen streaking 'cross
The back acre. She opens the doors. Sits in
Front seat honking for her master to come.
She accompanies him, a constant companion.
First she sees me off, on the bus to school.
One tragic morning, she's on the inside track.
I felt a thump, got off the bus. Lay on carpet.
As I cried, her master descended the stairs.
He was quietly reasurring - let me stay home.
Roy buried her in the backyard, by the stream.
She strikes a chord
With many, mostly fear
For a decade now or so
She grown a foot a year
She lacks the gift of
Sound and fair sight
How amusing it must be
To cause such a fright
Bring her a furry friend
And you’ll make her day
Beastly, I suppose but who
Likes squeaky creatures anyway
Yes, she comes to me in the night
Truth is, it’s become the norm
Not because she finds me tasty
But because she finds me warm

Oh my! Oh me! what is
that looking at me?
Big eyes, long snot, long
tail with a big old mouth.
I watch his every move,
is he watching me too?
I see now what it is? It is
an alligator checking me out.
So I sit at the lake watching,
him moving in out and about.
I'm not afraid at all you see,
cause he is an alligator and I
am me.
I have written this for my fellow soup friend Dane Ann,
who loves Alligators. I hope this makes you Smile!
The keeper
He’s there for me through thick and thin;
Closer to me than my next of kin;
With big ole feet, a long wagging tail;
And a nose that’s never lost the trail;
His long droopy ears have caught many a tear;
But I always have comfort whenever he’s near;
And I know whenever I am upset,
He’ll be there, my loyal pet;
He’s got my back, no matter what,
My silly mongrel and devoted mutt;
My baby Zeus, My faithful friend;
The one that will be there till the end.
