Be All Things To All Men

To devout Roman Catholics I posture as Pope,
but that's in no way the end of my scope.
Zealous aspirations I daily inspire
by promising to deliver the coming Messiah.
Bible-belt believers in any doubt or suspense
are soon reassured by Vice President Pence.
Proud boys, not famed for their devotion to God,
stand by in the street awaiting a nod.
Just in case your sympathies lie with the Devil,
to you I can promise a helluva revel.

American Gods

Show me something bigger than God.
Worship at the alter of oppulence and opportunism and
Pray you meet Heaven at a night club. If you're lucky, she might take you upstairs.
It will not be what you were taught in Sunday school.
In this garden of chaos, Heaven is not so pure and Hell is not as hot as home is.
I think I'll take my chances.
I've got a date with the Devil, and it ain't gonna end in a kiss.
Send my love to the American Gods.

Premium Member Breakfast with a Hangover

The party's over
You got in bed with the devil
And pulled the covers up over your head
It's a bed of your own making
Now you have to lie in it
And lie you have and lie you will
Over and over and over again
You'll toss and turn until morning comes
And after that sleepless night
It will finally dawn on you
It's time to wake up and smell the coffee
To go with your breakfast of crow
Which costs more than you will ever know
And we're all paying the price

Spite

Just a little word with
So many guises

Incoherent inefficient ineffective reaction
Inconsistent blame
Vengeful malaise
Conscious disregard
Blameless resolve
Sanctimonious irksome indifference
Creative revenge
Wreckage for sport
Intensive bigotry
Hyperbolic generalisation
Disinterestedness
Complacent autocratic dogma
Crass philistine opportunism
Nimble forgetfulness
Vigorous ignorant diatribe
Impotent nostalgia

All in a day’s work for those
Whose envy knows no bound
