Kiwi
Like a man at confession,
I admit I was wrong;

letting the Kiwi loll
idly long.

Now they are soft
as a cotton ball;

against God's law
we are nothing at all....

Premium Member See So Low
Clouds loll over,
snows cling fast,
and, as the world
tilts,
set to flowing - broadly
treacly; joining
capillaries to veins,
veins to the heart
of this good spinny
Earth.

Clouds loll over,
and ever,
the Sun.

I seek my peak...
in the Valley
below....

Law
There’s nothing on the inside
my wife’s been soren to call
Or something on the outside
my doctor’s warn to all

And never any insight
for lawyer’s claus to slaw’l
Or ever any vinedite
for honor’s cause to loll

I offer up to vine-light
my moral claws for all
and haven’t any sin light
for oral laws to call...

In Bed
I’m never one to loll in bed
Unless I’m feeling sick.
A couch or chair would always be
My lounge or reading pick.

At times I’ll do a sofa sprawl
When glued to the TV
But only when I’m ailing is
The bed the place for me.

Of late, a virus and a cold
Have dropped in unannounced
So here I am in bed, my normal
Lounging spots renounced....

Early
I love to wake up early
To greet the brand-new day.
The streets are calm and quiet,
Setting up for come-what-may.

I cannot quite relate to
Those who loll around in bed.
The morning beckons and there is
So much to do instead.

Though night owls would argue,
Which should come as no surprise,
For me, it's early to my bed
So I can early rise....

Premium Member Focus
Focus me to the horizon
Let the clouds slip into my nostrils
Let me inhale the deep pools of carbon life

I start to loll
As I forget what watches are
The strange figure in the dark sooted suit walking on the brook
I sit in my chair in my room and imagine him
I’m traveling far distances

The mind mells with Moorish determination
I beg for focus
Tauting the mast...

Premium Member Hard Pills To Swallow
I Swallowed,

My Bitterness,

Down With Pride,

If I Said,

"It Tasted Great,"

I Would Have Lied,

Hate Got Stuck,

In My Throat,

Next,

To Regrets,

I Drank Last Night,

None Of These Pills,

Were Good For Me,

I Had To Play,

Referee,

"Foul Play,"

Was My Call,

As My Tongue,

Began To Loll,

With Much Distaste,

I Swallowed,

It All.

(Vickie Thayer) 2018...

Growing Old
Growing Old

Women lose their pretty looks,
Some to petty cosmetic crooks,
Others dally on foreign beach,
Adonis studs their purses reach

But men just watch their bellies
Grow, and with big car, trophy
Girls to go

For summer is the mating season,
When men and women, lose all
Reason.

And as the years take on their toll
The older-aged and flaccid loll,
For hanging skin does not atone,
Or money help them when alone...

Premium Member The Lost Doll Ld
Millie our three-year-old
With tears that rolled
Down her pink little cheeks
As she looks around and peeks
Under her dolls bed
And under its bedspread.

I went out to see what was wrong,
It was going on too long.

"Mommy, I cannot find my doll.
I had her wrap in her shawl
And laid her here in her bed."

I look up our yorkie has fled
Into the house to his bed.

There under his chin laid the doll.
"No. No Loll. It’s not your doll."...

dog prayers
a way to call a greater sky
into a drinking bowl

a way to call
while staying
inside
the odor of this
world eat world reality

your creature self
will sniff out
the scent
of an ungroomed holiness

turn the prayer on its back
expose belly
wriggle
where your tail
spins like a prayer wheel

lost bones will return
still rich with marrow

offer licks and loll
lollygag for a while

then

when you see
your original face
shining
behind the moon

yowl with gratitude
