tread lightly forward with caution---
making a way is often exhausting---
a light to my foot---
a lamp to my roadway---
to take me through the light of day--
A myriad of colored light so enters through my door
Allowing my the candid sight, the beauty to adore
The warmth of rays, they so ignite, a heat within my soul
That calls to me, upon day light, to sacrifice control
I give into the warm sunlight, a piece, a part of me
So I am, until this night, a part of light you see
Jesus,
You alone who are our life
are the Light of our lives.
Why would we want anything else
when, through even
the darkest moments of our lives,
You have proven Yourself
to be there for us,
time and again.
Time and again You have said that You
would never leave nor forsake us
and so, we trust You,
the Light of our lives.
Before I was
I was
Before I became
Became I
Before I journeyed
I journeyed
Before I had root
I had root
Before the Light manifested
Light was
Before light became light
I became?
While I journey through life
Life taught
While growing I became
Who am I
While I found the reason why
Why I
When I knew all lessons well
Why?
When last breath leaves the I
Ah life!

She lies exhausted,
her wings half spread,
her past strewn widely
behind her.
Grandmother, the children pick you up,
hold you in their hands
to see how you would fly again.
You yearn for the white light
where the barely-heard beloved voices are;
the danger of life is becoming a threat.
Your wings flicker,
the light in your eyes is growing,
there is a great white light in the night.
fly now.
Bright light, small city.
People here are filled with pity.
People here have false hopes.
People here are hooked on dope.
People here are believing in false teaching.
People here are worshipping any and everything.
The pagans are huger than the one's in Vegas.
Whatever is said and done here doesn't stay.
The bright light wants to shine, but not many,
In this small city is wanting to walk or walking
In the bright light divine.
1-7-11
a bright light of hope
almost strong enough
to burn away the shadows
of the last year
but they still cling to the sides
of my soul
a constant reminder of my mistakes
a nagging tug at my heart
trying to pull me back into my past impulses
I walk into the light
the light this new year brings
and try to believe
in the future, in myself
i try to believe, with all of my heart and soul
that i wont let the shadows of my past hurt me
keep me
from making my future bright
