Alfonso On a Red Horse

Alfonso on a red horse

Kindred

Kindred

Hooks and loops
Laced the path
Burning minds
Torching trusts
Tightened lasso
Strangling hopes
Frail words
Breaking bonds

Marlboro Man

Rowdy came up over the hill like a vision.
I knew he was still chasing the errant calf
Calf bawled as lasso whipped through the air
Marlboro man I thought

Four Days Dead

Lazarus
lassos
What?
lasso
lassos
we laugh out
lasso
lesson
capital riot
cattle catch
what a stitch
but we laugh
A rope, right?
lassos
idiot time

Rope around the heart

Choked, escaping existence
Tighten,
Beating heart skips
Burns that stretch
Painful
Hurtful
Dying bliss
Gathered like a lasso
I can’t breathe anymore
Tighten…
Breathless…

Carp Diem

seize today
run with her
throw her to the moon
lasso her around a tree limb and swing on her
you only have one opportunity to adore her
before tomorrow knocks her out of the park

Chasing Sleep

In the midst of grief
I find myself chasing sleep
I have tried sleepy time teas
and kitty cuddles to please
help me lasso the moon
and find some sleep soon
but no, it evades
and I feel like I will fade

Me Ol' Ambition

Hey there! Howdy, me ol' mate, my pal!
I'm out, lookin' to get me a gal.
With my giant lasso
I'll impress her, whoo hoo!
An' boy I sure do hope she's called Val!

Signs

Give me a sign
  (Septec II) -

Sunshine drifts
along my window
where easy trees sway their rhythms;
an owl strings it’s hoots then pulls upward.
My blood and breath unravelled,
I lasso my phone
to cheat death.

M and S Or Ms Musa

do you know
how to throw
a lasso

do you not
know how
to tie a knot

knitting a
whip with
your brows

your brows
you can use
to beat me

but treat me
as if you
wanted

me
since
language

of the body
is different
from speech

but
to each
their own

but
you
own

me

Limerick: Once a Yahoo Forced To Go Google

Limerick : Once a Yahoo forced to go Google

Once a Yahoo* forced to go Google
Took out a leash/lease to lasso Poodle
Yahoo marched his Mistress
Through high-water distress
And for pains was told to « Go ! Doodle ! »

*Refers to beings in Jonathan Swift’s Gullivers Travels

Catch the Wind

She tried to lasso her daughter’s energy
then paused, shook her head and grinned…
for she knew trying to capture her spirit
would be like trying to catch the wind.

It was at that moment she saw
what many a mother sees
that you don’t always have to catch the wind
to be able to enjoy the breeze.

Fish Under Water

Depression can eat you whole
It devours your life
It takes over your soul
Hold on tight
To the light
Never give up the gold
Your words are stronger than Wonder Women's lasso
Don't be discriminated by life
Stand up for yourself
And for what you know is right;
I am telling you
Never give up the fight!

Family Gathering

Family Gathering

He dreaded family gathering and now
he was in the middle of one.

Tried to lasso the wind (Samuel Johnson)
of old slights remembered.

They turned to him called him a coward
always siding with his mother or being absent.

He just sat as not hearing the coward bit riled
as usual he absented going into his den.

Docked

boxed to a corner
horde by unseen eyes
shirking the coming dusk
slashed to a million pieces
prickling the mind
wailing, screaming
with concise thoughts
as a lasso to the soul
we pant to the sabbath
as we come to birth
but with the brevity of breath
smirking with utter defiant
swimming in an ocean of doubt

But She Is So Unassuming

tied to fierceness that was totally her own
tethered to a wlldness she had not conjured for years
she appeared as unassuming as possible
in order to be drawn into the confidence of the clan
she was quiet, stealthily waiting for her chance
to lasso them all into her eager, hungry, fire circle
to bestow upon them the revenge they so aptly deserved

You Lose - God Wins

Oh my gosh - the opposite me
Devil to roam the Earth is free!

But God can lasso him in
His mighty plans always win!

Savior connected to Adam and Eve
What do you truly believe?

If you know then repent
Part of how life should be spent

Confess and baptize too
Get rid of darkness of blue!

Praises, praises all day long
Truly is a blessed song!

"winter Strays"

Ride brush, stray search. Sit high, leather perch. Lasso thrown, dally wrapped. Wind howls, brim flapped. Chaps warm, gloved hand. Twenty years, ride brand. Spurs jingle, double rowel. Heading home, round corral. By Jim "Ish" Fellers Copyright ©: August 06, 2003 Wednesday @ 1:40 a.m.

Dark To Light --- Soul

My soul emaciated, starved since birth
A cold ebony soul that has no worth
Love, feelings, emotion, nothing but words
Lasso of Hell pulls me with the unsaved herds

God had a purpose for this blackened Soul
He started with His Grace, to cleanse my Soul
A Purification that made me whole, a Redeemed SOUL
GOD'S LIGHT surrounds me : Thank-YOU GOD for I am Whole

All I Ask of You

Bring me tulips in the spring
Find me sweetest birds that sing
Bring me lilacs kissed by rain
Walk with me in country lanes

Show me blossoms cherry white
Find me stars in heaven's night
Bring me petals from the rose
Take away my darkest woes

Chase the clouds, lasso the sun
Entice the moon when day is done
Wrap up springtime during May
And bring it out on Christmas day

Epiphany

babe
you really blew it.
You stole my heart abruptly.
I wish it didn't happen-
normally I'm not the fool
I run away subtly

but as you ran away-
heart in hand-
I followed you to the castle
and there, once dark, lit up bright
you swept me off my feet with your lasso

and there's nothing else I'd do
nothing I'd ever change
cause it's always you,
every time,

the one who makes me smile

Tethered

you brush up against my senses
staging a full frontal assault
sending me reeling, too much feeling
bouncing me off of the walls

you tether me with longing
a cord braided with hope and belief
you lasso my heart with loving
and love songs you sing just to me

you orchestrate my memory
in dreams where the magic befalls
burrowing yourself deep under my skin
oh the depths and the wonder of it all

Just One More

Just One More

You were angry when you dissolved your life in beer;
You were angry and roamed the roads alone.
Did you believe that you were wronged
When your world was finally gone?

Always you loved to ride the long highways,
Your mind absorbed all beauty you saw.
Your attempts to lasso your tyranny failed,
And sentenced you to a wanderer’s trail.

Away from the love for you that never died.

Princess Diana of Themyscira

Some know her as Princess Diana of Themyscira
She jumped onto comic book pages in 1942
Thus, she is eighty years old, but always drawn as much younger
Super powerful, taking on villains in a fashionable way

We recognize those legs and the high red boots
She has a magic lasso that holds the bad guys in place
On November 7th, 1975 she became a three-dimensional hero
You might know her as Wonder Woman

Space Cowboy

I'm a space cowboy
riding imaginary horses
with black light saddles
herding cows in my closet
my six shooter is my finger
making bullet sounds with my lips...

My ten gallon hat
filled with false optimism
borrowed from a circus clown
in a barnyard outhouse...

My posse are ghost riders
in the milky way
we lasso Taurus the bull
and have shoot outs
with villains
shaped as shadows
on the star dust trail....
