Pasta Cat
There was a large cat from Llanelli
Who was terribly fond of spaghetti
One day out of menace
He travelled to Venice
Where he dined in the sun on a jetty....

Empty Boat
A short wooden jetty
where shallow waters lap.
Taking time
to live deep in the big sky.

Fish slow swim
through cloud reflections.
Osprey seek the gleam
of silver fins.

This lake floats my mind-boat
and for a long moment
that boat is empty....

Untitled
The darkness retreats as the sun rises.
Tai chi on the jetty, moving with grace.
Waves crashing when the tide comes in.
The spray splashes upon my body.
Deep breaths in and deep breaths out.
Embracing the energy of peace.
Connecting with my emotions.
Healing and renewing....

Avalanche Blanche
She stood on the jetty
Salt water in her eye,
The past said ‘hello’
The future; ‘goodbye’.

Hundreds and thousands,
The colour of snow,
Seeds of bad bullying,
No time could un-sow.

Teased for some dandruff,
Never given a chance,
Named, jibed and called,
Forever, ‘Avalanche Blanche’....

Musta Got Lost
emptiness engulfs me
empathy is bound
gone, after swearing to never
ethereality cannot comfort
ocean waves of echoed heartache
crash on fog hid jetty stone
tribulations shake an inner core
Oddly never wanted anymore
what is it really for
This net of inter has entangled
without touch...

Turning Left At Sea
I once turned me frigate to port
Grounded on Her Majesty's fort
I thought it was petty
They valued their jetty
And threw me in a prison of sort

I learned here that starboard means right
I wish I had known it that night
Born as a dyslexic
Directions eclectic
A natural sea captain's fright

Afoot
On the jetty a Green Harbor
I stood the other day
Cold and wet and rainy
An’ I was out t’ play

The wind was keepin’ company
She rode in with the tide
Spottin up me glasses
So I couldn’t see the glide

Of a hungry screaming seagull
A flutter in me eyes
The footing was as greasy
As only kelp can be

But I’d been there
A time before today
A disappointed seagull
Flew away...

The City On the Sea
The angry sea tosses,
waves on a jetty of stone,
at the edge of the great square.
Under a dark and torn sky,
the wind screams and moves,
lifting the waves of the sea,
going thro doors and between pillars,
tattering the banders of men.
The fallen shadows,
lint stones,
columns,
city.
The people are gone,
a city in death,
sea and stormy sky,
alone.
The traveler passing,
thinking,
wondering,
asking,
not knowing,
why....
