There once was a fellow named Jed
Who found oil in his old homestead

Bought a house with a cement pond instead...

Premium Member Beset By Fear
The skies were clear, a cloudless blue
His heart beat red, his love was true
His hair was black, his thoughts pure white
The moon was full, the time was right

Jed cleared his throat, no sound came out
He'd lost his nerve, there was little doubt ...
Eagerly Becky had waited, 'till beset by fear
She slipped away, eyes streaming tears...

Premium Member a bit about queen cat
Queen cat had a collar that was so stiff
It hurt my neck to see it said her cousin Biff
On her head she had a measly pearl crown
Poor, but her lips did not often curl into a frown

I am satisfied with my life Queen cat said.
Happy with whatever enters my poetic head.
When she came to visit, she slept in my bed.
I took the couch gratefully said her brother Jed....

Premium Member Annoyed Carnival Girl
If you insist on wearing a merry-go-round on your head
At least try to act casual about it said Ringmaster Jed.
He was speaking to Carnival girl, his oldest daughter.
Who normally did nothing that she “ought”-er.

She tried her best to act nonchalant.
But then they had her balance on an elephant.
Come on! She said. Why is it always me?
You’re our only daughter, said her mother Lee....

Premium Member Mismatch Jed
Have you ever met the troll
That lives beneath your bed?
He really is a silly chap,
His name is Mismatch Jed.

His favorite thing to do at night
Is steal one of your socks.
Then sneak back to his hidey-hole
And stash it in a box.

So when you just can’t find the match
to the sock you want to wear,
You’ll know that Mismatch Jed’s been by
…just choose a different pair.

Premium Member Faeries Encourage Sparrow To Sing
The faeries were enormously busy that wet spring
Coaxing, encouraging and begging a sparrow to sing.
He wore a hat with a cherry I think it was Bing.
He looked sharp, but his wing was in a small sling.

You will love singing a song of sixpence I said.
He was embarrassed, and his head turned all red.
You’ll be marvelous, added my fey cousin, Jed.
Sing sparrow sing! Encouraged outgoing Ned....

Up From the Sea Comes a Bubbling Crude
Do you remember the Beverly Hillbillies?
When Jed shot the ground,
Oil produced without a sound,
They capped that up quick,
They didn’t even damage the fish,

So tell me,
If a bunch of hillbillies,
Came together,
Could they stop a leak?
That seems to go on forever,

Black gold gushing in our waters,
Damage from below,
Ever getting worst,
And no one is taking control,
With all the technology,
And all the great minds,
We cannot figure out,
How to cap a pipe????
