Sometime in the early morning
Their interlinked fingers
Made the final stand
Exhausted partisans
Giving up the war
and quietly returning
To a world of forgotten dreams
They say ambition and greatness are interlinked
Well as a young ambitious black man I agree
but ambition and hard work are two completely different things
Hard-work is what a desperate person does to get himself out of the hole.
Hard-work is what a young man who is infatuated with a young woman does so he can impress her
Hard work is what a son does so that his father can be proud of
So hard work I will do.
As my soul clings to yours,
our bond confused and suffocated,
radiations of what we call complicated love.
As my existence feels profound in your presence,
my soul interlinked with the personality of your essence —
feeling what you feel,
your hurt, your pain, your depressions.
As my soul starts feigning
when you’re not in my reflection,
left in pain at the thought of you ever leaving.
Now our two souls are left grieving.
The object of my desire
You send my heart into the stratosphere
Waiting for your smile
Like waiting for the sun to rise
Dreaming of us
My mind a mess
With scattered images of you
Driving through the stars
Of opal & amethyst
Burning for you with a violet fire
Yearning for you like a sphinx
Our bodies & souls interlinked
In the night
Our passions come to light
Dancing across the sky
Playing us a lullaby
Happy & alive.
Let's journey back to when time stalled, Side by side, amidst life’s sprawl. In that moment, a gentle pause.
No worries of hair or shoe’s applause.
Not bound by the physical, yet so sublime, A connection deeper than the hands of time. How do we rediscover that blissful grace? To learn, to cherish, to embrace.
Yearning for that shared reverie,
To understand, to truly see.
I crave it, with fervent plea,
A bond magnified, tenfold, you and me.
