She slept, slept her daily wage
For children’s maw a woman slept,
When not, wage and daily bun slept.

In hope that at late last he’d come,
Windows, leaving doors open, slept.

The night, shadowy more than shy,
On spreading her dark omen, slept.

‘I need none whoso in all world’,
My pride, in death all undone, slept.

Dog-tired, enduring my burden,
Me all awake, my divan slept.

Life Asks For
If there’s anything life asks for,
Trusting self, nothing life asks for.

Make unfeeling hearts love as ere,
And back to bonding, life asks for.

What like a lifetime’s hoard we hide,
To free heart’s felling life asks for.

To portray just as picture is,
Free truth from hiding, life asks for.

To forget faults as to forgive,
And no explaining, life asks for.

Love nothing more asks for
Love-filled long inning love asks for,
Not just good beginning asks for.

Eyes know to dive in deep to probe,
Love, no more than feeling asks for.

They all desire joys of their own,
Who alien suffering asks for?

Just a moment-long communion,
What else a loving heart asks for?

It desires but a glimpse of love,
What else? Heart not a thing asks for.
