Premium Member Cletus O'Toole Slips On a Banana Peel
Cletus O'Toole slipped on a 'nana peel

He broke his femur and damaged his heel

He asked a judge to rule

         "You lost yer suit, O'Toole;

A higher court might consider ap'peel'!"...

Premium Member Post Halloween
A unicorn's horn,
tattered and torn,
a half eaten Hershey's,
2 crushed candy corn.
The tiniest bat wing,
mummy's white sling,
skeleton's femur,
spider web string.
Witch’s silk hat,
yawn from the cat,
shriveling pumpkin,
Snickers smushed flat.

When ghosties have gone
this is the scene;
left over remnants,
post Halloween....

Premium Member Femur Sighs
Femur sighs, given a break and transformed by love.
— by poet (inspired by Ira Byock)

What’s worse than an illness, an accident?
Imagine with me
helpless in the abyss…
Open to the curse of curs.

No warm or cold compress
No caress
No handkerchief

No matter how hard you have it,
if surrounded by compassion,
you’re not as broken....

Premium Member Ham
A timeless cloud
embraced me
and on the other side
reality was softened by
morphine's laughing eye
surprise didn't strike me
I did gradually ingest
that that ham
that hung before me
was my femur
very smashed.

Afrerlife
Three breaths away -
His cloak floats
Dark, luminous
A cold wind wraps around me

Precious water,
Dripping in mirth
A song chills my bones,
Familiarity rings in my femur bones

The sacred scythe
Grazes my thigh
Precious red jewels
Rushing to join it

I fade drop by drop,
His smile infectious,
His potence my privilege
Curtains awry to the afterlife.

I have this one idea

It bit the back of his throat as he opened the door the nightly cold brisk.
So different from the warmth of the bed he had just left

Coffee and chocolate
Anything else

From an interior bedroom
beneath her pillow she yelled

Chips we need chips

Taking a mental note he turned once more into the acceptance of cold

The rattle of his keys
a femur xylophone echoing
In the early of winter morn....

My friend wants me to bare
All that's contained within__nude
Emotions covered for at least a decade__maybe more
He wants emotions to protrude

Like a compound fracture of the femur
Bone sticking out__ghastly
How could anyone want that
Horror pouring out for them to see

Must be a little mixed up themselves
Or maybe they like the gorey side of life
Where all is drama__a real bad scene
No__that is not for me__no can't be...

Ties
Ties

The squealing of
the glowing ties in
my bottom chest drawer,
 ties I seldom wear and
definitely don’t think
much about, spreads in
my knee to
affect the
lateral collateral and
medial collateral ligament; affect the
lateral and
medial meniscus; of course too
affect my
patella, femur, fibula, and
finally tibia. As a consequence, there are
days and nights I can’t
walk and
I can’t
thank them all enough!
