Premium Member He Will Dig You a Crater
Henry, an extraordinary excavator
Would arrive there sooner rather than later.
Using his big cat,
When shown where it was at,
He would dig you an enormous crater....

Simile Whim
Once upon a whim,
As an excavating limb
of a tractor under-tucked
the feed it hoisted up,
It seemed as though it goes
Akin to an elephant’s nose.

When later the machine
Departed from the scene
With scary points hung in
beneath the folded limb,
Its appearance was akin
to a giant scorpion....

A Treasure In a Basket
Laying in a wicker basket
Are varied colored Easter eggs
Surrounded by milk chocolate
And jelly beans and root beer kegs.
Exploring closer you will see
Beneath the artificial grass:
Sidewalk chalk and marshmallow bees
A squirt gun and a movie pass.
You must keep searching deeper still
Until you find all that’s concealed:
Next you’ll find a treasury bill
And coupon for a Big Mac meal.
Now my little excavator
Have a very happy Easter....

Excavator V Escalator
Excavator V Escalator

Escalator, to the Top it puts
Excavator rives and ruts;
and it effectively undercuts!

One is a symbol of Mirth
Another; symbol of wrath
and destruction of Earth!

Escalator is a symbol or Fort
Paradigm of Human effort
the other; of bloody sport!

But most, Irony of this Writ
is that one is pretty neat
While another is full if shit!

So, in Life be a Detector
of which is the Escalator
and which is an Excavator!

Premium Member Jousting On a Bobcat
You really haven’t lived life fully
Until you’ve raced down a mountain
In the rain
On a muddy, slippery trail
In a Bobcat side-by-side utility vehicle
With a twenty foot long section of twelve inch culvert
Teetering precariously on the vehicle
Trying to hold it under one arm
While attempting to steer with the other
So as to keep the Man
With the quarter million dollar excavator
From sitting around
Waiting on you
At an hourly rate
Higher than you ever dreamed of making....

Of late, my muse: needy.
A truce or a treaty
it seems is in order.
The flow, rather meager,
unwilling, not eager,
a poetic hoarder.

It's coming and going;
it's fun when it's flowing.
It's frustrating knowing
fatigue has been showing
and output is slowing:
a single oar rowing.

The brain needs a resting,
from rhyming and jesting,
The cells need recharging,
expanding, enlarging.

I'll pause the keyboarding
hop the excavator,
get the engines roaring,
come back again later....
