It's Over

petals drifting slowly from enfeebled branches dreams, forever lost, "Till death do..." we're dead

The Best Medicine

Let out a laugh if you’re lousy,
Add some amusement to aches,
Utter an outburst when under the weather,
Giggle your way through the shakes,
Howl if you’re feeling heart-sore,
Titters are good for infliction,
Enfeebled and exhausted? Try some elation,
Roll in the aisles, my prescription.

Obatamy

We the enfeebled of the incited states of confusion, ordered to deform a more perfect union,
establish just Them, insure narcotic tranquility, provide for the common everything, promote
Welfare, and procure the dressings of Liberty to Them and Their posteriors, do profane and
demolish this Constitution of the United States of America.

Leaving Your Last Breath

Like those last
luscious faintly
enfeebled breaths
bitterly breaking
through my
limply lifting lungs .
Fervently flooding
my tear filled
eyes. Tenderly
tottering into
those timidly
tight-lipped times .
Who wistfully
whispers
their coolly
cut cards of
kindred conversations.
Carefully kindling
their heart-crossed
corners of compassion.

Kent

Kneeling, head bowed, the old

          Knight remained still, though his

Knobby and enfeebled

Knees pulsed with pain, his worn

Knuckles ached, bloodied and

Knurled ... honored now, nigh his

KING ... he would ... not ... falter.

Bricks

I stack my bricks together
Assemble one by one
Construct myself a barrier
To hide from everyone
My soul's become too fragile
It's shivery and weak
Ramshackled by dishonesty
Enfeebled by deceit
So I've engineered a fortress
An rampart for the pain
Ensconced behind my barrier
I'll never hurt again
So I stack and stack and stack my bricks
My emotion thwarting wall
A soul saving work of masonry
To shield me from it all

Lost Battle

He was there recumbent like a log
Cancer has culminated,prevailing over him
Enfeebled all his shielding apparatuses
Yet spurned to frolic prolongation

Eschewed palliative care ministrations
He detected the vital prognosis was engaged
He had instead to plough money into God's certitude
For he realized HE implements nothing fortuitously

Could he yet afford to acquit himself otherwise
Engage in a battle lost right from the dawn ?

James

I left a week later, and I saw the old house;
An enfeebled decrepit domicile,
As quiet as a mouse.

The tall oak hung,
Anemic and fray,
The leaves that it held were withered and grey.

On a branch a rope hung,
Where I would swing when I was young,
A happy place, full of memory,
Was now a saddened place, of saddened imagery.

And the thought of never seeing James again,
Brought me tears, despair and pain.
But the saddest thing of all;
Was knowing it would happen again.
