God presides

My flesh and blood
refused to follow me
refused the notion of the flood
fought for right, not for me
Duty served
country proud
Now we two sons confess
we have transitioned to the dress
Father hid all the witnesses
to the truth of his two creations
from the watchtower he decried
the beauty, compassion and love
all he derides
What's a sweeter gift than love?
What's the greatest wealth than hope?
What's a richer state than faith?
It behooves you to live by your faith,
And keep aflame the spirit of love,
Woe befalls him who derides hope:
Nothing is drearier than a life bereft of hope,
And he's a lost soul who's without faith,
But unfortunate is he of all who's without love.
All is lost when one loses love, hope and faith!
Melancholy
A black bile veil becomes the widow -
Her euphoric beauty, now cursed.
Onyx gloves cover her silky soft hands.
Her tears, like wax, permanently fixed.
An imminent dark cloud covers her heart.
It never rains, just simmers in sadness.
Stoicism plays its game, never again smiling
The widow derides all tidings of gladness.

Naked and naïve
it’s time to bereave
your bedridden soul
for which ravens toll
You wear cynicism in
on a placid sunny day
melting a turquoise sky
into a saffron souffle
Your derision derides
the emptiness inside
digesting a child’s core belief
with your apocalyptic grief
So filet those frailties
with that phoenix in your fray
by flapping that acrid ash
far, far away
Then bathe in a turquoise sky
on a placid sunny day
as you stand before that child
naked and naïve
