I could have given more -
I could have spared twenty bucks
But instead I gave him coins
And not nearly enough
For the thousand watt grin
He beamed at me
Instead I felt guilty as sin
For what I was thinking -
He’s gonna buy crack; he’s conning me -
When did I become this jaded man,
Who thinks everyone’s running a scam?
Maybe he really needed the help,
And I drove away, gripping my money belt
