How tall are you?
Six foot, he said.
Acting cocky about it.
In the world of the giraffe
you would be but a newborn babe, I told him.

That he was just a bit confused.
For when the “mighty” tumble from
The lofty place from which they’ve come,
To our derision they succumb;
And sympathy? Not one small crumb.
