A simple French Carmelite monk
Into a most menial role he sunk,
A singular byway of life he trod,
Often alone and on his tod-
Practicing the presence of God.

No-Name Byway
Lone, untravelled. Dusty, moaned through.
Before all such, I think
In a dry, but land's forgot roads
Oblivion's wish goads

What leaves, for its departure
Day's, unacknowledged in
Of those shadows, the saddest
Which lead to one's last rest....

just a minute reflection - just checking in, just jostling, against the rainbow of my mind. just preparing, just pausing, before taking the byway to church. where i’ll be - just listening, just praying, just praising, and remembering just how blessed i am.

Desolate Pathway
Unhurried, loose, easy
Meandering, forlorn pathway
Nightfall, greatness
Scenes, unfurl in obsess
Strolling byway, late day sounds
Dazzling splendors surround
Among squeaking treetops crowned
Seeing falling leaves, flicking
Glimmering mist, crickets ticking
With heavy steps, leisurely, plodding...

Dusk Walk
Nonchalant, casual, easy
Meandering, desolate, roadway
Shadows in obscure, certainty
Grandness, scenes, unlay
Strolling byway in blackness
Brilliant qualities, encompass
Strolling in darken, nightness
Among squeaking timber-tops, echoing
Seeing sparkly, spotlight, flicking
Glimmering striplights, ticking
In relaxed, trudging, dusk walking...

Seven For Chaos and Order--Home
Road rage at starlit dusk, curdling like grilled blood
When noise of a hurried pack swerves with screams;
The freeway transforms into a jail of time-muggers
As I smell the acrid odor of jumbled agitation.
Pine boughs rest and sway along the dusty byway
Thawing a tired mind to watch moonray above, lending light—
An evening assured open doors would welcome me home.

I Did It My Way Franky Old Blue Eyes
And now my final beer is at it's end

And I have taken far to many
handover blow's

Book's

I've read a few

But then again to few to mention

Began a lot stood them tall then
chewed them up and spat
them out along the byway

And this i know for certain

Those curtains are just 1 prime example
of my many so many mistakes

I traveled with along the highway

Because as a man I scored nought

And more much more than this

I did it my way...

An Unbeliever In the Woods
The scoffer sat upon his rock.
and spied out the ivy and hemlock.
He surveyed the surrounding hills,
Of the endless ranging catskills.

He said, this is all that my senses perceive.
Therefore, there is no other revelation to achieve.
From here I can see the moon and the stars.
But it is obvious to me that there are no cars.

But he only had to use his feet,
To make his range of sight complete.
For a mile or two down the byway,
Was a tree-shrouded highway....

Dry Ride
The road is sluggish,
trucks burn the sky,
the sun roasts the blacktop.
We crawl out of one place
only to meander and inch
into another melting byway.

I count hawks and buzzards,
play the same music track
over and over again.
The air-con blasts
as we tinker with the time
we have left
before we can reach
that cube of ice
inside a cold margarita.

First though
we have to pour ourselves
out of a wilting car
away from the combustible
fumes of all these
overheated thoughts....
