To Avow a Pilgrim

I made a vow,
To live this year,
'Just for the hell of it'
As last year my best friend died.
Let him not in constancy,
Renege on his vow,
'He must stop now'
His death is a certainty,
He talks to the stars,
They weep for him,
Follow the master,
At the turn of the year,
He will be no more.
