Excellence in plumbing leaves me numb
Mastery in apprenticeship of thumbs
A Dearth of splash guards
Replaced with glass shards
Invites me to leave instead of come
Unlike competition's ring of self exalt
in humbling grace I near you, not assault
my own faith's nearing, not confuse or fault
that love in righteous ebbing hails result.
And only Godly urging's calming school

With a double major in
Nose picking
Graduated “magna-cum lousy”
From the “driveway art course”
Served an apprenticeship in
“It’s your dog pick up after it”
Rose to great heights tree climbing
Also got to meet the firemen
Taught my parakeet
To BOO those F-N Yankees
Rooted for the RED SOX
A true love/hate relationship
I understand Bill Belichick
But not what he says
Tick, tuck the clock is ticking,
Time wasting to much debating,
Cultures dividing people hating,
Nation crumbling Politician’s bawling.
Youths rampaging mothers crying,
Cash decreasing poverty rising,
Fathers departing children waiting,
Communities uniting parties deciding.
Quick fix job wanted education needed,
Discipline crucial apprenticeship essential,
Change necessary walls collapsing,
Growth dormant economy crying.
No longer at work
now in retirement
having worked since school
many a task I was sent
Began apprenticeship with electrics
blew a fuse I'm colour blind
then work in sweetie store
before redundancy not too kind
Worked in many a warehouse
looking after many a stock
from food to clothes
kept busy no time to talk
Made redundant again last year
decided to take a rest
believe it's well earned
after giving my very best

Standing alone
on the altar’s first step,
apprenticeship dethroned
Indentured anew,
my eyes turn inward,
disarmed, but not disowned
A quarter to forever
in the distance ahead,
blank meadows still to quote
The hour glass waiting
upon no man,
to deliver its last joke
Seeds scatter freely,
implanted anew,
words rising where vision bled
Each one a new stone
in eternity’s trail
—the unborn baby fed
