Winter Sunrise
a winter sun rise
barren trees aglow with frost
a blanket of snow
alit like fire from the sun
cover all that once was green...

Upon my fence alit a pretty sparrow
Her stay was brief, and yet I felt more noble
Than if the visit were of king or pharaoh

Smoke
Sparks alit
Fire burning
A stick, a cig
Accumulating

Smoke drifting
Ashes fleeting
Darting, floating
But never ceasing

Huffing puffing
Non-stop haling
Polluting, blighting
My lungs are dying...

Love Is My New Drug
Love is
my new drug
it
seeped inside
my blood
and
permeated
my lungs
now
I'm all
thumbs
and
can't feel
my tounge
Should
I be
catching doves
or
running through
the slums
alit
and all abuzz?

(Work in progress)...

Moment
When my mind alit
(when the world was still)
upon curvatures
of breath and silence
and a glance's grace

When my mouth paused
(the world was dark)
on synonyms
for devotion

eyes rested,
trouble was
vanquished then

and one
sad soul

slept...

I wrote alit from the mine
the turkey not a mind
of digging the best out of a hole
to get the liver the heart and the neck
and stuffing you must be out of your mind
thank you did it all thank you my last word
a tralala give me a party only me invited
at your no sense know a full moon...

I beheld amidst the baleful sky,
a single snowflake falling gently
startling white against the slaty gray.

The crystal alit with cushioned sigh
upon your lips and sat contently;
you, too cold for it to melt away.

Rested long upon that ruby scar
did that winter's magic falling star....

Fallen From Above (Septet)
Heaven sent,
                    as if you’d fallen
from clouds that God sits upon
while the stars stay alit in your hair
and also glow in your eyes
                your skin is of clouds
                       soft and pure

Chasing the Sun
2 sides of the wick evenly split
as there set alit the flames fuse
much like the sun and moons eclipse (muse)
and is such the time i speak, apocalypse
a harmony of our heavenly bodies seeded from one pit (a hidden crypt)
as their dance realigns it all but blinds us into trance
time stands still, dawn or dusk? a question drawn...

The Dove Tree
A flock of Christmas doves
carried a turquoise veil
through a white winter sky
and found a willow tree
weeping and alone
in the cold of a December day

The veil was pinned in the sky
and twenty five doves
alit in the bare branches
so the tree was no longer alone
as it listened to the song
of the doves in the chilled morning air.....

The Spirit of Otter Lake (Roundel)
At Otter Lake, whilst welkin starry clear,
A ghostly wail bruits eerily despair,
And eyes appear alit like embers near,
At Otter Lake.

Avaunt, the trappers pray, bedim thy glare;
In sooth, thy mourning grieves a bygone year,
From earthly bourn, ascend to angels care.

Arose a zephyr, thick as bloodied air,
And shrieking withered every soul with fear,
To where a man durst lay his footsteps there,
At Otter Lake....

Drying In the Sun
The ivory hue of the dove-colored rain- cloud as it hovers; the opaque glitter of the sunlight as the rain-drops are shaken off of leaves after the rainfall.

The sunlight emerging as storm-clouds glissade into the heavens the tint of light-blue Robin eggs. A moon bow alit on a body of water, immaculate…

A snowy Egret's spread wings in a summer afternoon
as they lift- they are an elegant white wedding-her veil, train…...

Thawed
I ignite in a blur of
Dark charcoal, charred, chiseled into
Gentle locks that wrap around my cold fingers
Like metal curls when heated.
His fresh, baked gingerbread warms my
Crystalized, blue frosting, cool ice in my eyes
And the time frozen in place.
Roasting, red blushes burn passion
And steam frigid air ’til my breath is thawed so
Those who chilled it cannot see,
And the biting winter outside
Cannot faze the hot summer alit in me....

From Noir To Blanche
From Noir to Blanche

The lovely daisies closed my eyes
I dreamt of angels in disguise
Who walked upon my mortal land
Dressed only in their black and gray
The somber clothing very bland

They gathered flowers as they passed
Then tossed them in the summer air
As they alit bright colors beamed
The daisies turned my eyes to green
Their clothing white to end the dream

Premium Member Goodbye Linda Marie
Eloquent, ethereal,
an artist through and through.
Her words alit on gossamer wings
as through our hearts they flew.

Each poem was written from the heart
and soul of our Linda Marie.
A visual portrait painted with words
for us, her audience, to see.

We thank you for your friendship.
You will be missed Sweetheart.
We thank you for the words you left us
before your sad depart.

Your beautiful soul, full of grace,
is in a far, far better place.

Discarded Love
A lifetime we spent as one, in all ways.
You were my celestial focus.
All rays of light in your direction.

Unbeknownst to me
your fire burned elsewhere,
alit to all the world
but shielded from me.

Was I but a mat
for which you to trod
nonchalantly upon my heart?
There you left a gaping wound.

Swiftly you exited
with your own intentions.
Absconding with my heart,
future and sanity.

All to be cast aside in a ditch
along side the road of your life
like yesterday's litter....
