Premium MemberWaves

As we enter another lockdown
for the third wave of this inexorable
pandemic, with new variants appearing
almost daily, and vaccination is progressing
hesitantly, while our school children are going
to remote again, and the ICU’s on the verge of over
flowing, I just can’t help wondering if the seventh wave
will be a tsunami.

Praying Without Religion

Once a week, someone shocks my bruised side
By saying, "I sense the Spirit in you, so awesome,"
And all I can say is, "It must be you, if I may confide ...
"Mostly I get suspicious looks, even asked to go 'home'"

Once I laughed, and told that less Spirit-filled one:
Americans you go home first; go back to America!"
Of course, that person is here, and was here -
But God as in YHWH, the Hebrews knew, teaches me shalom

He is so good to me; even when my disabled child
Was able to complete school, then community college
I saw His Hand, keeping me from bitterness and wild
Vengeance against a self-centered, abortion-obsessed culture

So, He finds ways to make me seek His Spirit
In all the prejudicial ways in which I merely exist here
Because, simply, I am the wrong color, quite -
Still proud of the shade and rainbows God preferred

I AM
I AM
I AM
I AM
I AM
I AM
YHWH
YHWH
YHWH
I AM THAT I AM YHWH AM I
I AM THAT I AM YHWH AM I
YHWH
YHWH
YHWH
YHWH
YHWH
YHWH
YHWH
YHWH

Premium MemberAuthentic

Authentic is living from one’s perceived, core truth,

it is any soul’s possibility before falsehoods root.

Genuine as a babe’s new breath in bloom,

authentic souls wear no masks or flaky costumes

for they shape spirit, not mankind’s trendy groups.

Authentic is never popular or a tolerated norm.

Mankind is cruel when different fails to compute,

in fact, authentic has often gained man’s abuse.

Glorious eternity embraces each soul’s authentic honed jewel

while earth stays those who failed authentic school

Premium MemberThe Magic Hourglass

April's come and gone. Now May is here; the grains in the hourglass
have already started sifting down. Dew is on the roses.
Days of linking daisies will soon begin.
Transparent skies of night will show
constellations when the
  fire-breathing dragon
comes to freckle
school-sprung
children, who
baring skin,
will run
with
glee
through
 sprinklers.
Soon enough
the kids will be
tumbling in leaves
fallen from the trees of
their back yards, and then
following bright autumn's demise,
the filtering of seasons' sand quickens till
every grain has drifted like snow, burying another year.
May is on her way; again the hourglass, like magic, is turned over.

Premium MemberShape of the Institution

I have the shape of the institution.
Each email address is a human.

They are known by their words and actions.
The whole wide world is just a fraction

of all I do not know. Expansion
and contraction, breathe in, out, meditation

on existence, non-existence, creation
and duration. I have no explanation

for fusion, fission, taxonomic relations
or artificial classification.

More I do not know: locomotion
by combustion, electron separation

and transportation via superconduction
which supports the idea of the unified nation.

What girls are like behind their eyes. Masturbation
a useful restraint on overpopulation.

The story of a life, my life, any life, cohesion
must be rationed, conjured, a fiction

about a vexed, tenacious town, its rail station
truck stop, high school, night spots, recreations

the temporary citizens enact visions
dream-like orations, ballets, conflagrations

to in the end receive in annals honorable mention
from family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, institutions.

A Shirt

did you know did you know
   what i am? well i'm a shirt, a shirt
no? can't you tell? do you see what i am yet?
or shall i tell you more what i can do, what i am
I am the thing you put on each morning for work
or for play, or for school, and every time you go out
but you take me for granted, friend
not everyone has such an advantage
some don't have more than a cloth
to cover a small portion of their skin
sin marred by the hot sun and by dirt
the next time you put me on to play
remember what i have told you today
you may always have me you may not
but you can't take things for granted
because you have minor problems now
compared to those in other countries
please stop complaining about them all

Thumb On the Scale

I do
work for
you, and I know
what you seek to build,
you merchant, you creditor,
you money-man. I know because you
made us all the way we are, weak. You made
me into some monster to do your dirty work, some
Golem. but I am wise to you, you ugly vulture, I'll not pull stone
for you more. You seek to build a masouleum, a glorious tribute to
you and your school of thought. But you are not soveriegn of the Nile, and
we are not your slaves. When this ugly ziggurat is pulled down, no man will be buried
within a bloody mountain. We will all be equal, unified by the embrace of silicates and
stones.

I'M Just a Kid Trying To Make It

What am I suppose to do
When I have know mom there
I try so hard to keep my head up, my model is to never give up
What am I suppose to do
When I have know dad there feels any day my heart will tear
17 young trying to make it in life
Don't want to be a failer
So I try and try
My mind gets deep, but I don't know how to speak it
School is where I want to be
Sometimes I don't see that in me
I want to be somebody in life
No one seem to understand
Poeple try to put me down
But still I stand!
