Northern Light Bob Barker

a disproportionate amount of night is lost
as we close doors and shut curtains
take my arm, walk with me
I'll never be this beautiful again
        nothing will
this moment when the light falls
               is stolen from elsewhere
         sounds are far away
   every window glossed over
             as we are outside
not within any more
there are signs the sky is glass
I just know I was shaken up
              opened my eyes
                   as it all still swirled
you need that to make things out
        once it settles
                 I'll fill in the blanks
     confusion compounding
because imagined sections
     throw you off
        the light won't fall anymore
   we'll go through doors
to other places
         so many identical doors
that don't lead me to me
         or you to me
              the outside will get forgotten
      it was/is hazy
   dream like
