The Sleeping Muse, Constantin Brancusi, 1910

delicately I dream
embodied elegance
  alighting at stops
       of impermanence
solemn slumber
    encased casualty of my day
                ~ daring to drift
like mist, majestic in metallic hues
           exploring caverns of chaotic carnivals
all the while with whistling breath
     confirming safely sealed
              in sleep's serenity
     travels that transmute
       trajectories of tiresome tears
tirades accompanied by brass bands
      the switch from solo soliloquy
savaged by silent slivers of memory
                        screams of "save me"
          cried into the backlit void
  vindicated by ventriloquistic
                       vast echoes
"view me"
        I plead to stone walls
            of whitewashed wishes
     wanton with trapped wails
                  of all that wandered
rich beyond windswept wonder
     racing to shores
  of unsure solvency
      set in seeds of uncertainty
forevers framed in filigree
                         "wake me!"
       lost in insipid intricacy
   irises bloom, full bellied
              epiphany enchantments swell
       perhaps Eros manifests
arid oceans tainted with thunderous overtures
leaning into laced wings of weary wrath
sleep ends in dahlia dipped dopamine
   carpeting cavern floors
            foolish rambling
      greeted by sleeveless silhouettes
               solemn ~ always solemn
