The White Madonna

She walked down the isle in an eburnean dress
looking like a beautiful Madonna I must confess
her hair long as Rapunzel was braided in a tress
she walked and she talked like a Royal Empress

I sat there in a wooden pew solitary as a mouse
admiring her stature, she was marrying a louse
but money is what she needed, and a big house
I was no more than a little poor hungry grouse

Abasking in the infusion of her sun I was her host
lost inside an old church, just like the Holy Ghost
the preacher began to talk and I hid behind a post
counting my losses feeling small, and very lost...

She swayed, turning two lustrous eyes my way
waiting for me to speak, what I couldn't say
poor as a church mouse all I could say is nay
then she said no, and that really made my day.

All My Life a Waddie

~ All My Life a Waddie…
I have lived the life of a country bumpkin
matter of fact I came into this world where
Every day was lived hand to mouth so to speak
poor as a church mouse with not a crumb to spare

I’ve lived among the bright lights of the city
just doing the nine-to-five job everyday
Worked my ass off for less than minimum wage
took a few odd jobs for whatever it paid

Been a soldier, farmer, manager and cop
dug ditches, cleaned toilets and worked in a bar
Business owner, cashier, bouncer and a bum
laid highways, built bridges and washed people’s cars

I’ve flown through the sky and sailed over the sea
worked on mountains, the beach and in the forest
All through my life no matter the job I had
I have always tried to do my very best

Always lived the life of a hardworking man
never given a silver spoon that's for sure
I want you to know that I feel still quite blessed
and I would never ask for anything more

Now that the end of my working life is done
time for this old man to quit roaming about
Find a place I can sit and write poetry
until my final flicker of flame burns out

Being a gentleman farmer, should be wiser
selecting the correct type of fertiliser,
perhaps request information from adviser
would sure need to be free, because I'm a miser,
won't even spend money on an analyser,
just a poor farmer paid less than supervisor,
though some say I'm a cheater a womaniser,
no time for that, busy as an organiser
a good business man, provider, merchandiser
I sell my produce no need for advertiser,
how much for animal feed?need tranquilliser,
as poor as a church mouse just a compromiser.

Too Much Or Too Little,

too much or too little,
the storys abound ,
the rich n the poor,
 on the merry-go-round,
happiness-health- give me more,
till i canter across the fatal shore,
poor as a church mouse this old hound,
forever for bloody sure:)

Termite Whiteant Fix

Termite/Whiteant fix

Out in west Queensland,
Lived a white ant pestered man,
Cos the white ants were attacking ,
Chomping on his house quite grand.
They seemed to love the skirting boards,
And would climb to get in em,
There in millions billions bloody hordes,
What would he do with dem?
He was poor as a church mouse,
To get em treated cost a few hundred,
Maybe could make not taste as grouse.
So onward then he blundered.
Some of the country boys,
Squirted diesel in the walls
To hit old white ant on the bearers n stumps.
Like a bee box buzzed the swarm.
They didn’t like the diesel taste,
He’d used a super soaker sorta,
Water pistol worked quiet well,
As I spose it oughta .

Country people swear by it,
 the diesel 4 the termite,
one place he hit a nest a bit,
they buzzed the hypocrites,
will they return to nibble on,
the 4 inch timbers mate,
or will they stagger away,
get timber tasty for their plate?
