DEBATE

A line of faces
In semi-circle
Big ugly at center

All in mask and gown

A slow waltz begins

They speak
Each in turn

From the crowd
Chief Pemican says
“Pale faces speak with forked tongue.”

Each step to forced control
But, Senator_________and others decide
To foxtrot

Cymbals crash
With annoying bluster

The whole group in disarray
Defending choice
Save big ugly
Who won’t step to either tune

Dave Austin
