Sometimes;
it's hard to hear the words that were spoken,
Sometimes;
you cannot fix what is broken.
Sometimes;
you have to believe in your dreams,
Sometimes things are seldom as they seem.
Sometimes;
you need the facts the raw truth,
Sometimes;
you feel something is wrong with our youth.
Sometimes;
it is hard to get thru the day,
Sometimes;
the one leading has lost his way.
Sometimes;
you bite more than you can chew,
Sometimes;
you have to paddle your own canoe.
Sometimes;
things will go as planned,
Sometimes;
you're going to need a helping hand.
Sometimes;
you cannot handle what comes your way,
Sometimes;
you want to run, but you stay.
Sometimes;
you hit a wall you're in a slump,
Sometimes;
your wife leaves you for a man with a stump.

PADDLE YOUR OWN CANOE
Stand tall, raise high, blame not thy lot,
Tread path swift, find faults naught;
Decisions tough, impediments bountiful, solution yet to be taught,
On crossroads held, crisscross paths, life distraught!
Hold your ground yet firmly tread,
Not a cake walk though, life’s hostile instead;
Exhibit valour, let spirits soar overhead,
Vanquish hurdles, flaunt thy smile, joyous tranquility spread!
Befogged vision, life seems tangled,
Heartbroken defeated when dreams sometimes mangled;
With courage, steadfastness life no more wrangled,
Sing to the tunes of the chiming bells jangled!
Choicest blessings the Divine shall bestow,
If and only if you paddle your own canoe!
Charles lived in a castle
A castle with a moat
Charles had possession
Of a little wooden boat
When he had a day off
Which were far and few
His favourite pastime
Was paddling his own canoe
Around the castle moat
In his royal boat
P-addle your own canoe,
A-ugust nineteenth Saturday;
U-se your independence,
L-et your weakness fade away.
A-s you paddle your own canoe,
S-how the world that you can;
U-nder the wide blue sky,
N-ever ask help from any man.
C-rossing the running river
I-s your own breakthrough;
O-pen your mind to initiative,
N-ow paddle your own canoe.
