An Honest Man

My girl and I rented a house,
A cottage of our own.
She said: "I have one condition,
And this is set in stone."

"I expect only honesty;
A man, forthright and true."
She warned, if I should ever lie,
Our love affair is through.

Damned if I do, damned if I don't;
It's a catch twenty two.
I lose if I don't tell the truth,
And I lose if I do.

One night she baked a casserole,
And asked me what I thought.
I said it tasted terrible!
The truth was what she got.

She asked how she looked in a dress,
Which caused another spat,
I said, babe that's a pretty dress,
But it makes you look fat.

And then on Superbowl Sunday,
She got more of the same.
When asked if I'd like to cuddle,
I said: "after the game."

When her parents came to visit,
I called her mom a witch.
She claimed I wasn't good enough,
Because I wasn't rich.

Her father was a piece of work,
I guess that's how it goes,
He called me every name he could,
I punched him in the nose.

Once at a karaoke bar,
She butchered Blue Bayou.
She asked me, and I told the truth,
"Singing is not for you."

I hated renting videos,
She'd always rent chick flicks!
And I would fall asleep between
Her nudges and her kicks.

Last night she said she's leaving me,
She met somebody new.
He likes her parents, and the way
She sounds on Blue Bayou.

He says he loves her casserole,
It never makes him sick.
She says he hates the Superbowl,
And loves to watch chick flicks.

So girls, if love is what you seek,
I hate to spoil your plan.
The guy you're REALLY looking for,
Is NOT an honest man.

Premium Member My Hoped For Hallowed Eve of Bliss

There’s not one Halloween I count as dear
although I loved those childhood times. If I
think back to long ago and then go by
the feelings they evoked in me, then it is clear. . .

One “Hallowed Eve” is an example of
my yearning for those boys I fantasized
about and all the ways that I devised
to meet them! How I suffered angst for puppy love!

His name was Ricky Adams. Like some dope,
I’d stare at him in class and wish he’d see
that he and I were simply meant to be.
Then came my chance one day. A best friend gave me hope!

This best friend, Sheila, knew about my crush
on Ricky. To the same church they both went.
She asked me to a Halloween event
her church would hold. To think of it, I felt a rush. . .

For surely Ricky would be there. I dressed
in something pretty. Oh, this had to be
the night that cutie pie would notice me
at last. This had to be the night that I’d be blessed!

I had great fun with each and every game,
a haunted house, great chili that we ate.
I wondered how much longer I must wait.
But then my hope dissolved when Ricky never came.

Alas, so many times it came to this:
My dreams of love would sadly come to naught,
but I’d keep on, and so my youth was fraught
with dreams dashed, like my hoped for Hallowed Eve of bliss.

First Kiss

The instant our eyes met we knew the kiss was imminent. We smile playfully all the
while in pursuit of this aforementioned kiss. Each time we part ways we audition
attempts at the kiss in know of its accelerated position. The instance was right, I
knew it would be this night that I without trepidation, boundary or fear. Free from
hesitation and wonder of return, tonight will be the night of concern. At suns set I
stretch forward my arm, a coward no more. We adore the charm of each other and
are ready to explore, risking harm without worry all kiss" long and longed have I for
the moment on approach. I chose you as my love to share after approving smile this
incredible moment of kiss. This here is the moment of truth, I can hear your heart
beat in your ear, the same ear I now peer through into your mind and find it's true
that all fear has disappeared. My fingers brush through a handful of your fair hair,
together we share one final breath of single air. Our lips are now erect and on direct
intent of meeting, millimetres remain. The time for our minds to change has past, at
last the moment is here. Your eye sheds the tear of fears farewell, I taste the swell
flavour of "please kiss me" and I do because I have wanted to kiss you so badly too.

Flares, Fights, and Fireworks

All of my friends said,
“you’re so big and she’s so small, How can it possibly work?”
But the night we met at Charlie’s house
was nothing but fireworks
Of course since then I’ve been known
to throw a couple flares your way
But Hopefully I will learn from the mistakes that I have made one day
When I’m with you
I try really hard not to swear
Just because I know you don’t like it
and to show you that I care
Every night I’ve been with you
I didn’t get angry
and I didn’t get sad
I guess it’s just something to do
with all the great times we have always had
I’m hangin up these depressed boots,
Because I don’t need them anymore
They’re old,
 they stink,
they’re all torn apart
Because they’ve taken many hard treks before
Now my life requires no shoes
Because I have you
And I’m headed for the seashore!
Just like how when we made the list
of all of the places where we should go
That’s one of those moments that I told myself,
this can really be love Joe.
I doubted that it could ever be possible in my life,
But I so strongly believe that I could have found my future wife.

Premium Member The Blue Sundress

As the long, frigid winter comes to an end
She pictures a dress like none other- quite a vision!
A sundress in her favorite color of sky blue
Made of softest blue chiffon with mixed patterns
Held in place by strap-like sleeves, and finest pearls
And a fitting lower back cut, made to hug

She smiles as in her mind she conceives
They would have a quiet dinner at the sea shore
Followed by casual dancing beneath the stars
In the quaint, quiet gazebo hand made with white lattice
Lit by whimsical lanterns swaying in the southern winds
Which soften the mood to match the haunting sounds of the obo

As the night grows deeper, wrapped warm in loving arms
They’d stroll along the beach, two hearts finally at peace
He would laugh as a soft, gentle wind billows her skirt
Lightly brushing bare back as he steals a sweet kiss
And lost to the world they'd be, amidst soft pounding of ocean surf
Then spend the night in the dunes up on the hills to await
The fiery glow of sun rise; welcoming a new and glorious day!

Alone Tonight and Far Away (For Joy)

Alone tonight and far away
How many rivers need I cross to you
How many mountains before the break of day
How many sighs before the night is through, I'm missing you

memory long arms reaches out
O but only to the pass, the present is bare
Memory cannot grow joy while night filled with drought
Leave me shriveling in a dust bowl of dreams and despair

Imagination has no fruit
My tongue has not suckled like a breast
I cry and whimper, so lonely at the dry root
Where are you love, tonight, how far is happiness

Shall dream in flight find
Again the paradise left behind? Shall we
Meet some place where rivers and sea entwine
And on a delta embrace? Night is here and dream weighs on me

The wind your footsteps coming
And every distant sound of nature;s voice
Pale to your sweet humming, and I still longing
For your presence, see stars shed their beauty, for none rejoice

Midnight Love

The night is young my love,

The moonlight shines down from above.

Let the midnight air caress your hair,

Listen as I to the moon my love for you declare.

Let the night creatures witness this tale,

Let them learn from this love as well.

Pay no attention to them my dear,

Let us take a page out of shakespear.

Let's live a fairy-tale romance,

Let us to the night's sounds dance.

Let our souls combine as one,

Don't rush it, the night has just begun.

Let this moment be written in time,

Come my love, Loving isn't a crime.

Listen as the silence whispers into your ear,

Let it tell you of my love and desires my dear.

Let us embark on this amazing journey,

Let me be your bee, and you my honey.

Bridal Wreath

Bridal Wreath

Jasmine is the scent of romance
Its fragrance creates A hypnotic trance
Two wrapped around each other move
As one to the heart strings of one another

Twilight falls upon a humid summer night
Caressing lovers in warm vanilla sugars of delight
Jasmine lays them in her arms of scented cotton
Beneath the stars blossoms a night never forgotten

His tender kiss and gentle search for the garden gate
Calls passion through the porthole as desire waits
As the zephyr breeze increases the flower opens beneath
Engulfed in their night covered by their bridal wreath

APHRODITE NIGHT
Remembering that night of our last touch,
when nothing was between us we should know,
in love with loving you, and just how much
I wonder, where in time do such nights go?

Forbidden, like a box all sealed up tight,
or like the burning Zeus refused to share
with mortals such as we, and on this night,
Pandora's box was opened everywhere,

you were, that night, my first and only love
and always shall remain this part of me,
created from the earth and waters of
a night when Aphrodite let us see.

And I am more than blessed for loving you
forever and all time, as I will do.

Trapped Infatuation

My darling you are my lover divine
Swimming in our desires, we thrive.
Capturing affection in all, we are alive.
Our passion glows in dark so fine.
With lights out, candles lit, and wine.
We finish our passion; just before five.
For afterward, we shall not survive.
We have both traveled, across the line.
Both trapped in previous engagements apart.
Each other married to another, but not in love.
Our infatuation will end this night forever more.
This adventure ends; our ecstasy shall depart.
All recollection of our dreams to be disposed of,
I shall never forget, our first night at the shore.
