Premium Member voting, fall, midterms

life happens.
It’s fall, it’s midterms
It’s election time.

New Haven’s giving a lot of fall.
I’ve been starting to feel the chills,
but things are turning cold and extra breezy,
so it all maks sense.

The good and bad can coexist closely,
is our energy dropping? Nope.

Whenever I think of voting,
I go back to American Idol.
My first voting experience.
It was 2009 and I was 14.
I was into Adam Lambert.
he didn’t win, and sure, I felt
a child's appreciable sense of outrage
millions and millions of us did
but we didn’t storm FOX Network
We cried into pillows and took it in stride.
Now Adam sings with Queen.
So I guess it worked out.

Premium Member ''In the Corner''

My bedroom is small but a lovely place,
    and "in the corner" I have put some peaceful things;
nothing expensive, simple, often secondhand.
        A candle,
incense and a colorful rug;
    and some pillows to hug.

I bring with me some flowers in a vase,
    it is there that my thoughts fly high on wings;
and I can soar to all realms grand.
        Oh, scandal,
meditation is like a drug;
    and I glide a lady bug . . .

Fish and Chips On the Isle of Skye

Fish and chips on the Isle of Skye
At eight PM when the sun is still high,
With friendly midgies and the coffee hot
Where the Chips are greasy but the fish is not.

The opaque moon says "look at me"
Above the bright blue shiny sea,
The fluffy pillows hang in the air
While the Spannish tourists sigh and stare.

The little boats give you a dance
The distant mountains give you a trance,
My wife's lipstick smears on her fork
We taste the view and enjoy a talk.

While we let Skye work to catch our breath
We see less is more & more is less,
So it doesn't matter the slice was dry
With the Fish and chips on the Isle of Skye.

Note : a "midgie" is like mini mosquito

Premium Member Angel Island

Confined in a building day in, day out,
their freedom was withheld; they couldn’t bear it
not a soul was even close to happy even though safe
every individual was depressed, and sleep was slow in coming
The days were lengthy and unfilled; their dismal outlook was not dismissed
The hours of darkness were long and the pillows chilly; After going through
such aloneness and sadness, Why go on living without faith?

The island of angels had many man made things from boxes with windows
and tubes that went boom when blowing out smoke to a large wooden dock
which even the Miwok hunters and fishers never knew of when the expansive
island was still empty and its beauty undisturbed, the magnificent bay full of fish

Today the island is still beautiful and very peaceful but exclusively occupied
and the coves open to sail boats many of which are tourists or picnickers who
Appreciate the scenery along with the peace and quiet of the bay but what is peace
Without the serenity of this island called Angel?

Love Mineral Number Twenty Three

Te quiero , I love You,Ti amo,
there have been
songs endearing
some worth sharing
some I dare not
romantic lyrics
sounds you hear it
I Love You sounds great
when your the number one guy
tell me I love you
when I'm bruised by
your loving
and I'll ask myself why
Fussing and cussing all about
with a tear in my eye
and you say I'm foolish
and I ask myself why

You lied to me when You said you loved me
you lied to keep your cheating going on
you lied to keep me
You lied to turn me off
hard pillows are romantic
Cold beds aren't good for love songs
everybody wants to write us
speak us in a thrid persons part
you keep on amusing them
you rebreaking my heart

tell ya'll love can be dangerous
infedility makes it dangerous
emotional destress
eroded feelings too
complications about everything
what up wiff me and you
aint no advice that heals a
bruised up heart
finding someone else
when
things go wrong
often prevents a new psoitive start

Tell ya'll
some love is dangerous
complications make it dangerous
undecided situations
are dangerous
some situations are dangerous

The Vow

(A lone voice whispers)

I'll buy a white silk ribbon
Tonight

From O'Mallys
My love

On our golden wedding anniversary

Lay it on your favourite glass dresser
The one we bought in the snow
A few months ago

Light one of your white perfumed candles near it from Reardon and Sons

Visualise all our cherished memories
Together
Within it

Then tie it
Into a sacred white bow

And gently kiss it and put it under
One of your favourite blue pillows

That way
We'll sleep together
Every night

Especially tonight
Real close

Even though you're gone
Like we once used to do

For our love is still stronger than death
And lasts beyond the grave
And it's how I

Now a lone survivor
With Charlie

That beautiful dog
You once bought as a birthday surprise

Wait
Praying for you

In one of God's
Repentance, grief filled Caves

Continue

Continue in absolute hope
With our beloved happy memories of you

Lighting our way
Through this firefly-lit blackness

Like one of those white perfumed candles in our bedroom

With all the crazy things
We once used to do

Premium Member Who I Am

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

—Psalm 91:1 NIV

              I’m loved by God
safe under his wings and secure
though the world is on its tilted axis
        often I’m off balance
pillows are thoughts not as grounded as puffy clouds
I travel over and under arms - memories
    of past steps, foretelling future
fluidity of feeling but gently tethered

              I read scripture
pray, obey, love my fellow man
in the Spirit, the best I can, perfect
        though not in my power
the ethereal takes over and changes lives
lies exposed, incised; friction sharpens, bonds kinship
I touch eyeballs, expose the light
the touch of God felt between us - a first-rate hope

Dreamcatcher Fantasies

Caught within the web we are rolling pearls rolling towards the sea
Golden dreams soft on pillows of joy bloom inside every pure hearts.
Entering a new world of light and beauty, we find our destiny's path
as our hearts become agates, pure diamond studs, ephemeral lights...
Only in dreams are we truly free to be ourselves and follow the sail
that glides us towards our Celestial home. As we follow our wishes
through intricately woven threads of consciousness, we find our
true selves.
We find our courage as we swim the waters of hope and as our
eyes adjust to a new reality, we find the meaning of each fantasy.
Daring to become our authentic selves, our dreamcatchers glow
with pride, watching our auras fanning out with colors richly bright.
Enter into the realm of dreams and leave behind the world of day
Create in you a space , a sanctuary of grace where you can live inside a dreamcatcher world, as safely as a magical fairy in the emerald forest. Caught within the web, we are pearls , rolling and rolling our way home.

Premium Member Turn Down the Voices In My Head

I pretended to be sleeping, .... through long hours of the night
Across the milky-way, you slept, 'til dark became the light
I could hear your quiet breathing, .... in the rekindling of dawn
sighing empty words we never said, just the rustle of the bed
where I pretended to be sleeping,
buried deep, in pillows weeping

Knowing you were close, beside me,
   ...pretending something, too

The night was dark and lonely, as cold as two hearts grieving
Exhausted love, that could not sleep, is weary love that we can't keep
A love that's running out of breath,
is brushing death too soon...

I pretended to be sleeping, but could hear my own heart breaking....
I stayed awake to hear your breath,
But now, afraid of footsteps leaving

A branch against the window glass, is scratching to come in
As if to pry, the words, "goodbye", that is carried in the wind

I pretended to be sleeping, but, I can't ignore the sunrise
The day arrives, without disguise, I must face it now, and ask it why?

You have turned your back, as if to hide

Pretending something too....

Premium Member Traveling Cowboy

Well, mam, it's been a pleasure.
How nice that we should meet
In the dancehall playing guitar
Where I swept you off your feet.

If you think that you can rein me in
With your heartstrings on your sleeve,
There's no way you can stop me.
I'll grab my bag and take my leave.

I'll hop a train to 'Nowhere'
Cuz 'Nowhere' is my home.
It's years since I have been there
But I've still got years to roam.

There's no use in waiting for me.
I'm not going to take your hand.
I'm just a wandering cowboy;
Ain't giving you no band.

My guitar and I are done here.
My boots have sat too long
Under your bed of frilly pillows
So, I'll leave you with this song.

I'll hop a train to 'Nowhere'
Cuz 'Nowhere' is my home.
It's years since I have been there
But I've still got years to roam.

And I just love to sing this poem.
