A Formula For Life

life is a mystery to be lived and not a problem to be solved
for life as we experience it moves from easy to hard
if you look back to your younger days you will discover
that as you've matured some of the mystery of life has been uncovered
you have come to understand why your parents had all those rules and stipulations
now as an adult dealing with the bills and the kids you understand the complications

If you look at the terrible circumstances happening in the Gulf of Mexico
where the Oil Industry worked without less governmental control
"drill baby drill" is what the Tea party and Republicans ranted about
now facing one of the biggest disasters its at the President whom they now shout
those individuals who wanted less Big Government rules and regulations
are now demanding that Big Government fix this horrible situation

The Bible tells us that we should in God place all of our trust
for He is the omnipotent source that created us
for us not to lean towards our own understanding
but to follow the formula for life that God is commanding

God made a perfect world that humans keeps trying to remake
we've let the sin of greed take us over which results in big mistakes
we need to understand that there is no other force nor any other foundation
that has the power or the fortitude to deal with all of life's situations

The formula for living is to let go and let God
trust in him and allow Him to take control of our minds and hearts
the formula for living is to take to God in prayer
and then let the will of God direct our behavior
we need to profess it and confess it
we need to address it and then let God bless it

So develop a relationship with God and always included Him in the mix
seek His wisdom and wise counsel for there is nothing He can't fix
the formula for living, the formula for life
is before you do anything make sure it's been blessed by the Lord Christ

Are You Dressed For the Occasion?

when you plan a special event there are only so many seats at the banquet tables
you can't possibly invite everyone in life you know even if you're financially able
only so many can be invited and chosen are the few
and they should be dressed for the occasion in order to celebrate with you

in the Bible a King sent a select few a special invitation
yet in the midst was a person who wasn't dressed for the occasion
that is similar in the way that some respond to the invitation from God
not spiritually dressed to celebrate with Him with a righteousness of heart

God has invited each of us to his spiritual feast
and all He desires is that we come properly dressed to say the least
for its by the blood of Christ that we've been given an open invitation
yet there are those who try to attend with their own set of stipulations

but in order to be in the presence of God one needs to properly dressed
wearing the virtues of God, dressed in order to be blessed
kindness, love, righteousness, patience and serenity
forgiveness, compassion, peace and most of all humility
to be spotless in God's sight now ready to live life right
with a willingness to obey dressed in a godly way

are you dressed for the occasion? are you properly dressed to meet the Lord Christ?
are you dressed for the occasion to accept the greatest invitation in life?

Truth

To be alive is not to live;
To think is not to act;
Yet you confuse the two of them,
And try to mix both white and black

It’s no surprise you are confused
By thinking you have naught to lose,
Yet always ending up with gray,
Not knowing how to live each day

But life has value in itself –
A truth no man can calculate;
It has to be both lived and breathed,
Not left to rest in hopeful dreams

Live not by truth and you ignore
The subtle knocking at your door
Which begs an answer deep within,
But still receives no welcome in

If from this dream you never wake,
The toll of life will calmly take
The many things you thought were true,
And bury them with you.

That Was Then and This Is Now

that which is our greatest blessing can sometimes be blocked by our past
that which is in store for us can be hindered in a flash
we get so caught up in space and time and our memory is sometimes diminished
major shifts are always occurring in life and is doesn't seem to be finished

horrendous hurricanes, fatal floods and tremendous tsunamis in the blink of an eye
erratic earthquakes, wicked wild fires, the polar caps melting and we don't seem to realize
that Mother Nature is trying to counterbalance what mankind has put into place
and in the near future there will no longer be a distinction when it comes to race
things are happening in this life time never before envisioned nor seen
an African-American President in office but what does it all mean?
as that was then and this is now
we need to properly package the past somehow

the US of A has had a glorious past but we can live in it no longer
we need to put our past in perspective so that our future will one day be stronger
for you can't visit present grief with long ago events
you need to live in the moment, to dwell in the present
if you're constantly gazing at yesterday tomorrow will pass you by
and you can't drive forward looking in the rearview mirror and I don't need to tell you why
for in order to move ahead you need to let those old issues in life go
for that was then and this is now and you need to go with the flow

so let go of those dead relationships that now affect your present state of being
for that was then and this is now and the future you should be receiving
now cross over into your Jordan and claim your Promised Land
and don't let folks tell you "that's not how we used to do it" upset your future plans
God made a promise to you that you will prosper and succeed
He said He will never leave nor forsake you in your time of need
so be strong and of good courage someway and somehow
as the future is waiting on you for that was then and this is now

Being Right Now

Do you understand the reason for this?
Do you think your life is all, but bliss?
Can you hear your heart calling to your mind?
Can you leave all your past fears behind?
Can you live without knowing tomorrow?
Can you believe in yourself now, without feeling hollow?
Can you live your life without hoping for better things?
Did you know you can fly without wings?

Seeing life the way I do
Looking at colours, seeing more than the hue.
Gazing at the stars, I see all eternity
My history, my past, my diversity.
The truth is we all are one
 What is done, is done
Forget the future and the past.
Live each day as if it was the last.
Be here, BE right now.
It will be your day soon to take a bow.

Contributing To the Story (Part 2): Enhancing God's Glory

we have a tendency to develop a foolish pride when we see our name on anything
be it an award, certificate, team jersey or a championship ring
we think we need titles to feel important in life
but none of that contributes to the story that is Jesus the Christ
your name on a jersey won't make you play better
a title after your name won't change the content of a letter
your name on a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
doesn't guarantee you a life of happiness without some pain
so what have you contributed to God's story?
what have you done to enhance His glory?

In the Scriptures there's this woman who anointed Jesus with an expensive oil
yet only one person is referred to in the text and that's by his negative foil
he was denoted by his affliction, his disease was brought to attention
he then had the nerve to criticize that woman for her unselfish deed
until Jesus told him to "leave her alone" because for Me she fulfilled a need
that man seemed to be more worried about the oil's cost
and couldn't perceive that the life of Jesus was about to be lost
he acted like he was so concerned about the ever-present poor
but Jesus saw through the hypocracy that he tried to implore
that woman was spiritually motivated when she made that sacrifice
she contributed all she had to the story that is Jesus the Christ
God only desires that you do the best that you can
when wholly subscribing to His righteous plans

yet that woman with the alabaster jar her name is never mentioned
but her contribution to the Biblical story has gotten everlasting attention
in the scheme of life your name is not that important and a title won't make you great
as it's only what you've contributed to the story or done to enhance the faith

Premium Member A Cycle Broken

A seed is planted
new life begins
tended, nurtured
brought to maturity
ripening, blossoming

Sending forth it’s seed
to begin again
before it dies
the cycle of life goes on
with each new seed planted

Mother to daughter
a cycle reborn
hope is renewed
through the eyes of an infant
the laughter of a child

Gentleness and strength
moral character
values instilled
teaching them, preparing them
hoping the best for them

So what happens when
natures cruelty reigns
suffocating
a cry silences the night
the seed cannot be sown

Immortal spirit
the cycle of life
stopped, broken
empty womb, dry barren soil
no one to take my place

Do my hopes and dreams
my visions, my truths
die then, with me
wither up and blow away

Will my life cycle
my spark, my flame
be extinguished
Or will I continue on
through the souls that have touched mine?

Be Careful What You Wish For

be careful what you wish for on this journey called life
and that what you wish for lines up with the spirit of Christ
be careful what you wish for just make sure it's Godly inspired
don't be a fool nor the devil's tool by what in life you desire

you thought you had found Mr. Right to you he was the perfect man
he turned out to be a loser and abuser who only showed you the back of his hand
you thought you had the perfect woman she was smart, pretty and sweet as honey
but when you feel in love she broke your heart as she was only with you for the money
you thought you had that dream job which gave you power, prestige and control
instead it was an all consuming stint sucking away at your soul
you desired a certain type of car the most fabulous vehicle you could get
but instead you got a big fat lemon that wasn't worth the polish nor the spit
they say that the grass always looks greener from the other side
just don't hate, appreciate, seek God's guidance and with Him take the ride

If you allow God to navigate you on this journey that is life
I guarantee you will experience less trouble, struggle and strife
God wants you to be happy, God desires that you have the very best
so for everything pray to Him and let the Holy Spirit put it to the test

God can send you the right mate someone who will love and cherish you
God can hook you up with the perfect car and so what if it isn't brand new
God can give you a career that will fulfill you and make you feel whole
allow the presence of God in your life and it will nourish your soul
so be careful what you wish for as you just might get it
all I can say is that on it pray that it's sanctioned by the Holy Spirit
