Premium Member The Fire

I am the penitent fire,
The smoldering answer to the final question,
The World Host,
The vibrant colors in your eyes,

And yet...

            I spill tragedy everywhere.
                         I rail
and rage against the bars in my mind,
recklessly tearing thoughts as they occur,

watering love as I dismiss the act;
the pail heavy and wet, but I'm not carrying
all of it. The child I help carries it with me.
He is 14-years-old and has tumors all over his brain.
He loves walkie-talkies and bugs.
And neither of us wanna water the damn plants.

(Though we do it and now we have shared in something.)
Battling against our thoughts we secretly embrace the
process of life. And we will walk back to our special classroom
in and through the Transitional Light, the peace falling through the air
like unfiltered grace, the pear-scented morning of a school day
swirling all around...

And then last night I sit beside a woman my age,
and the peace that has sat like a lake rises to a pulpy gall
as I recognize the vibrant colors in her eyes
as my birthplace and beacon through the smoke
of the immense fire of life I am even now burning, burning off.

Walk with me now, through the blaze, as the blaze...

Premium Member Peace Signs On Denim Pockets

She held on to her blue jeans
From our younger, college days
With peace signs painted on each back pocket
And that worn-almost-every-day fade

But thirty years and four grown kids
Changed her girlish shape
Still those jeans hung in our closet
In a most prominent place

She dreamt of one day wearing them again
Pouring herself inside them like before
I tried to always reassure her
It’s the woman inside that I adore

Now illness has a way
Of removing unwanted pounds
Though not the way she planned it out
She could fit them on again she found

The quilt we made in her memory
Has many patches from times in her life
The peace signs on denim pockets
Are the patches that I most like

Cathedrals To Dream

As in sheets, sheared time is laid
 forever dream-weaving in sweet sage
  lasting breaths to aching pleas
sleeves of soul sway in the breeze
   Falling leaves are grazing check
  caressing gentle as softly sleeps
 Lillie’s teasing arising to greet
milking petals beneath my feet

Kisses brush my mouth to seep
 eternal passion from nights weep
  supplicating to familiar eyes
   saying adieu before the sigh
   Magical life is drifting behind
  unknown ages splendor-ed in kind
 closing windows,and dropping the drapes
eternity comes as my loom is shaped

Fantasy remade into the real
 unicorns prancing in the fields
faeries are skipping and jumping rope
every turn a boon,a fulfillment of hope
Wishes aplenty are winking from trees
A man on the moon is in love with the sea
And resting at peace in yonder light
a future is dreaming,what we’ll never sight

In Cathedrals these magical beings advise
and peace is no dream, its breathing new life

Some days I just want to scream
And scream
And scream
And get all of these voices
Out of my head.

I just want them all to go
To go out and far away
I just want some peace and quiet
I just really, really want
some peace and quiet.

No voices from the outside
No voices from the inside

Some days I just want to scream
And scream
And scream
A basic primordial scream
Until I can’t anymore.

Until I’m lying down on the floor
And I can wrap myself in me.
A comfortable place to be
And then I can go to sleep
And not hear anymore voices.

Alittle Magic

Alittle Magic
I found this little magic rock.
Everyone that touched it sure did talk.
The truth is what they all told.
Some were hurtful and some spoke bold.
Others talked of their true loves.
All been taken by heaven above.
No more lies were ever told.
For some their lives turned quite cold.
They never said one nice word.
And then one day this bird flew by.
Most beautiful bird in the sky.
He dropped something from far above.
I picked it up, it was a glove.
And so I slide it on my hand.
And waved around to all the land.
And made a sign for all to see.
My two fingers said Peace to thee.
The truth and peace in all the land.
Be kind and loving to fellow man.
